Freebie scene to me is dying.....

No reason to really continue on, it's gotten way harder due to more and more frauders/scammers, advertisers don't pay as much as before and the cost of referrals + the price of [bf11a28b101]free trial offers[/bf11a28b101] have gone thru the roof.
It's pretty much over now.... to much abuse of a good thing pretty much killed it.
I agree that the cost of trials is going way up...
na, i disagree
the way to look at it is this
net profit
i have decided to stay on small time sites for now. i have a very limited # of offers to do that I am still interested in so I could turn to paypal for the more expensive sites but I would rather go for non-cc sites or sites that are cheaper to get refs for.
that is just me though
let me tell you that in 8 months I have gotten a lot of stuff/have a lot of stuff coming. it has been SO worth it

Yeah, I have not been at this that long, but I'm sitting on my free laptop, watching a dvd on my free 360 on my free plasma, syncing my free ipod, and wishing I had my 24" Dell display with me.
Now, I might have paid more to get those things than back in the "glory days", but I still paid a minimal amount and wouldn't have any of that limited list of my freebies if it wasn't for the freebie scene.

i have received a crap load of things but i agree the freebie scene sucks now when i started about 2yrs ago things were very different and much better if you ask me i havent signed up or attempted a site since last spring i finished all freepay that i wanted to do except mac mini (damn 90 days) i basically only come here because I am trained to come here and i do enjoy some of the threads

well, I've only been here for a few months, I came here because the scammer Just Blaze got me into it. Haha, but I plan on finishing the sites I'm on now, buying a bigger TV for my room, a few other things I'd like, then take a break, catch my breathe, then see where I wanna go from there. I've heard some ridiculous things about the beginning of freebie sites, like 5 refferal grand checks and whatnot. Who knows where it will go from here

No offense but 39.95 for credit is some gay shit, sites will have a harder time attracting non-expert users with offers like that up, seriously. Right now they still need the experts to stay in business, I cannot imagine my mom ordering the ebay kit for 39.95 when the profit from selling off ebay for 98% of all items are pretty small.
Due to fraud advertisers know what to expect, some refuse to pay others don't allow free trials, you can't attract a new user base with things like that, I don't see it.
With the exception of netflix, blockbuster, bidz.com and maybe gamefly (pos if you ask me) most offers aren't attractive to new users.
I gotta shell out 30 for a green (25 seems to be [b453826a80d]low[/b453826a80d] these days to most and I don't know the user on the other end, they could be a scammer over a friends house or whatever.

I've been here since Mid/Late 2004 and I don't think it's dying at all. If anything, it's gotten larger and there's no sign of it dying at all. There will always be advertisers who allow there products to be incentivized. Blockbuster, Video Professor - two of the main ones that have been in the incentivized marketing business obviously are making tons of money off of us, because they've been in it and have increased there payouts at certain times. I've made more money in the last 6 months then I have in the FIRST 1 1/2 years when I started simply from DIY/I-Deal sites.
People always say that freebie sites are dying, but from an advertising standpoint you can tell thats not the case

[b6c3a96e08e]Who is naive enough to pay $39.95 for an eBay kit? Regular people who know nothing about eBay or these freesites, or the freebie experts looking to pay as little as possible and who know that they don't need to spend any money to figure out how to use eBay? I'll go with the former.[/color6c3a96e08e][/b6c3a96e08e]
Due to fraud advertisers know what to expect, some refuse to pay others don't allow free trials, you can't attract a new user base with things like that, I don't see it.
[b6c3a96e08e]You can't attract a [i6c3a96e08e]freebie expert userbase[/i6c3a96e08e] like that, but what makes you think they want to cater to us? They don't. They're in the business to make money, not give us cheap bastards an easy way to fraud them and put them out of business.[/color6c3a96e08e][/b6c3a96e08e]
With the exception of netflix, blockbuster, bidz.com and maybe gamefly (pos if you ask me) most offers aren't attractive to new users.
[b6c3a96e08e]They don't want it to be attractive to us. It's certainly attractive for sites who may advertise elsewhere, but for most of us in this scene, it's nothing new. The less of us who complete their site the better (as far as they're concerned).[/b6c3a96e08e][/color6c3a96e08e]
I gotta shell out 30 for a green (25 seems to be [b6c3a96e08e]low[/b6c3a96e08e] these days to most and I don't know the user on the other end, they could be a scammer over a friends house or whatever.
[b6c3a96e08e]You don't HAVE to shell out anything for greens. If you do, you can get them for less than $30. I get all my greens for YGF sites for $21. I also just got about 15 or so greens on some Trainn sites for $21. Use your initiative and part of your brain and you'll figure out how to cut your cost of refs as well as find other ways to get them.[/color6c3a96e08e][/b6c3a96e08e][/quote6c3a96e08e]
Also, as bruman said, I don't think it's dying. More and more sites are coming out, most of them legit. More offers are being offered, lots of different gifts from lots of different sites. Most offering good support, good payouts and a good selection.
If you're having trouble finding good sites to do or being able to find refs, then it's your own fault.

i can relate to what you're saying. I remember when it used to be $20 or so dollars for a ref and now I can offer $30 dollars for a regular credit site and get barely any interest. Payout for some of the better sites is only 40 dollars or so and one bad apple forces you to get another three refs just to break even. Can't do anything about it though because that's just how it is. Freebie scene isn't dying so much as the proft margin is going way down until it's just not worth the time anymore. My problem with DIY sites is that I simply don't have enough offers anymore. I wanted to do another i-Deal site but it's just impossible for me unless I turn to frauding offers by doing them again. In my mind, almost everyone hear is a "frauder" in some way since I'm pretty sure 90% of people have no interest at all in Diet Pills or anything like that and yet they still do the offer. I think the generally accepted rule of thumb on fraud is bascially "Don't do anything that might cause the advertiser to revoke your credit". Just my two cents so I understand with other people disagree and stuff.

hi, my name is [bd3df0f318d]megotcash[/bd3df0f318d], and i've been a freebie addict for more than a year. it first started out with the small sites, then i got into the harder stuff. now i'm hooked and can't quit giving my cc #'s to anybody who asks.
haha, ugh, i've thought about this a bit too. i think the "good ole' days" are pretty much dead, but there are more and more small sites. although cheap freebies are pretty much gone forever, other freebies offer fast shipping, and it is still much cheaper than actually buying the products.
i'm just tryin' to make a little spending money, and pretty much pay for my college tuition...(i'm not joking...freebies are gettin' me edukated)

I started in May of last year with two freepays..
Before I knew the rules...
MAde two accounts. Took me two months to finish both...
Put on hold for multi accnts & Didnt get nothin LOL.
I was still a skeptic. So i did Oc's Shuffle to see if its legit. Started July, finished three weeks later, got it mid august. SOOO HAPPY!
I've been addicted since...
I've mad $8500 since i started, and i have a plasma pending so 10K since a lil more than a year ago.
However, I also agree. I've ran out of offers and dont wanna do any of the "new" offers that just cost way too much..I was used to doing all the paycoms that are so easy and stuff.
And when i did two I-deal DIYS. I pretty much figured out im done lol.
Also a big way i got alot of money was through friends...I used to have like 12 - 15 solid friends who USUALLY could do me refs. I remember when i did trainns pc site. I got the 12 refs in a day ...ALL FRIENDS too.
After June the only things ive really done was the second I-deal DIY and i JUST started working on yournintentdowii4free...Im having trouble finding two more friends...I know, i used to be able to get like 15, now i cant get 5.
I consider myself retired but i think its more of the idea that Im just doing sites at a VERY slow pace.
I still try to come to this forum alot though b/c i love it & the community.
I'll see where i go from here b/c times another issue ....

I agree with alot of you, I wouldn't say they are dying. Just a few months back, there was Freepay, OC, and Trainn for the major companies, now, including those mentioned previously, theres easily 10+ legit companies(123Stuff, Free4Me, YGF, Rewardz network, etc), with ATLEAST 1-2 coming out each month. Its just getting harder to complete.
There are a few major problems now - those advertisers interested in incentive marketing have realized it isn't that great of a way to get leads. Advertisers have either dropped payouts substantially or increased trial costs. I remember I used to be able to do a free or $1 trial and get full credit on a $50/ref site, now I see the same offers worth 1/2 or 1/3 credit on a $40/ref site. Full credit offers will run you atleast $10 nowadays, and its not like the old days where if you didn't get credit, you could just do a new offer. Now if you need to do another offer, you are looking at spending nearly $20+ just to do your initial offer.
The other problem is that newer networks can appeal to us, but they lack the ability to appeal to a mainstream audience. They have a niche fan base, but they don't make as much money of us(people that know what we are doing in regards to these sites) as they do the average idiot that would sign up, do an offer, but then not complete the site - either because they just lose interest or because they do stupid stuff(multiple accounts, trying to trick the system, offer fraud, etc) Expensive offers turn away potential leads, and all these sites using the same layout just look unappealing and unprofessional. Plus, the names of some of these new sites are rediculous. Use of short hand are a real turn off to me. Sites with names such as Free4me, Aintgotnomoney, 123stuffforfree, etc just don't present the same level of professionalism that 'something.freepay' does.
Finally, the rising popularity in getting freebies results in more people coming to forums such as these. More people coming to these forums means more competition, meaning referals cost more. I remember Trainn greens used to be $20, now $30 is a pretty average price. Even for $40/ref sites, people are paying between $25-$30. Its just plain getting harder to make a profit.
Thats my stand.

Personally to me, i would love it if somehow we could set a llimit as to how much one can pay for a referral (i believe this was a topic in this forum before) but i know that its almost impossible (all the freebie forums would have to agree (a4f, referralswapper, etc...).
But the way that i look at freebies in 2 ways
1. Its kinda like a hobby to me, its something that i like to put time into, like posting on forums and what not.
2. I look at the gifts I recieve as making payments on them. Lets say it takes you a month to complete a site and you are paying 25 per ref lets say every 5 or 6 days. Instead of going to a store and buying an ipod or 360 for whatever it costs right up front, you are paying for it weekly or so. And then you get your gift like half off....thats the perspective I put it in, like paying rent or making a monthly car payment...
