Given your experience, is this video reality or a distortion of reality?

Wow, that video is awesome.

Reminds me of that "Swan" show that used to be on. They would take some nasty ass chick and turn her into someone that everyone on this board would want a piece of.

It's a reality when it comes to fashion advertising. There are many other websites that show good examples of what they do with photos after photoshop.

What they did in Photoshop made it look like it was a couple of clicks but that's hard to make it look that good with the shading and resizing.

It definately is a good video. When it comes to my photos though, some girls would say "Wow, I wish I had good skin like her, or awesome legs like that." I'm usually straight forward and say, "Don't worry about it, it's not all natural. The computer is a slave to the camera..." or something along those lines.

And yes, to manipulate like that is often tricky while making it look natural. I wish I had an AMAZING retoucher to change some things up in photos.

i kinda like it when a model has a crooked tooth or mole or something normal like that. I feel it adds character.
My gf got a scar removed from her leg from when she was little on got hurt at camp. I was kinda sad because it was actually a funny story how she got it and i almost felt like getting it removed took away part of that.

The chick doesn't look all [i4a8e0fcc9a]that[/i4a8e0fcc9a] different in the end. Dove couldn't find someone more of a plain jane?

I've done a few facial retouches in Photoshop. It's not that hard to make the skin look better but reshaping the face would be very difficult.

Yeah yeah, mad photoshop skills.....

What bothers me about this is Dove is acting like they are making a huge difference. It seems their page is more focused on the FUND rather than the cause, which happens to be a good issue to be addressed.

I just wanted to post this so people can see a side by side comparison.

I actually think she is very beautiful in the first one. The last one lacks that "girl next door" appeal ad well as down-to-earth quality. jmo

well..... i dont think it's just makeup. Lighting too, notice the shadows are gone (as well as the thing above the lip/below the nose..... there is a specific name for it that i can think of now).

the philtrum

which reminds of Gary Larson's Far Side cartoon with a bunch of doctor's taking the medical boards and there being a bonus question "What's the little dangly thing that hangs down from the back of your throat?"

Thanks!

Strange you brought up Far Side, i was just thinking about the one with a pic of a guy walking out of the bathroom at a restaurant and a giant sign flashing "DID NOT WASH HANDS".......
......because i was at Otanis restaurant today and this guy walked out of the bathroom without washing his hands..... and he was an employee there. shock

Yeah, they used almost equal effort to make her look bad in the first pic, as they did to make her look "better".
