So I've been listening to the scorpions a lot lately.. The top 2 songs right now for me are

Send me an Angel
Winds of Change

I like the orchestral album they have [b089a5d66b3]Moment of Glory[/b089a5d66b3]. It's pretty cool.

Anyone else listen to these guys? Or any other music out there that I should know about? I really like listening/discovering new music (to me) that's talented, good melodies, etc..

The only song I like by the Scorpions is Rock You Like A Hurricane.

There's too many 80's songs to recommend... Try Round and Round by Rat

Chex you were barely alive in the 80s try another decade like the 60s and 70s there was actually good music then

Yeah, those were pretty much the only two I could think of. Maybe Elvis if that's your cup of tea. That's about as far as my 60's knowledge goes.

60's, yuck.

70's, marginally better, but not by much. Outside of the Eagles (my favorite band), Journey, REO, and a few other late 70's stuff, not much I like about that decade either.

80's, my favorite era! I probably listen to this music more than anything. Club 977 80's Shoutcast channel is permanently bookmarked in WinAMP. )

90's were okay I guess, but began the downfall of music to the modern day.

The 00's royally suck. For the most part I hate today's music.

Ya'll didn't ask my opinion of the decades, but I provided it anyway. And yes, I was actually alive during all of those decades (thought not actually appreciating music during the 60's). ;)

Shhhhhh, tsj made fun of me for even mentioning REO Speedwagon...

hehehhehe

10-10-2006 17:07:29

There's also Dylan, Doors, Hendrix, velvet underground, the who, Bowie, Zeppelin, Simon and Garfunkel... There are a lot more.

IMO the only decent music from the 80s is the cure, smiths, depeche mode, new order (joy division), and the like. Although it's fun listening to some of the lame ass one hit wonders. I want to punch the wall when I hear that "We built thing city" by jefferson starship. That song was a huge hit because people had no taste lol.

There is some great music still coming out in the 00's. It is just hard to find.

Boy, that would be tough, I wouldn't know where to start. I'll run down a few of my favorite hit artists off the top of my head from that era, you can search out their hits (Google for 80's hits)

Eagles (late 70's, early 80's)
Journey (ditto)
REO Speedwagon (ditto)
Bon Jovi
Def Leppard
The Police/Sting
Foreigner
Genesis/Phil Collins
Gloria Estefan
Paula Abdul
Huey Lewis and the News
Robert Palmer
Chicago/Peter Cetera

Vastly different styles, so they may not all appeal to you. My range of taste (during that era at least) is pretty wide, so I like everything from hard rock to dance mixes to sappy stuff. )

The Police are great. I have a tribute album to The Police called Policia! It's actually pretty good I think, Fall Out Boy covers "Roxanne" in a unique way.

Oh, and by the way

Pink Floyd > all

Check out The Cure album "Disintegration", specifically "Lullaby", "Lovesong", "Fascination Street", and "Last Dance", but that whole album is great.

i don't' necessarily like 80s music, but there are stuff that I do like. I don't want 80s hits, the popular stuff.. I want the good stuff.. any era will do as long as its 70s, 80s or 00s. I don't like much 90s music.
