How do I plug in something to the mic port of my computer(like an ipod) and make it so the sound comes out of the speakers on my PC?

+Karma will be given if I find the answer

You get a 3.5mm audio cord.

Use a 1/8" - 1/8" audio cord (male-male...like headphones jacks on both sides) plug into your mic jack... then In windows, you can goto your volume control and find "mic" or "line in" and turn up the volume up (NOT the recording volume). As you do this, you should have the ipod playing, and you'll hear it louder through your speakers!

I'm not sure he got to that point yet, so I didn't get into the software end of it. ;)

thanks!! I couldn't find the mic section in the volume control but I went to preferences and found it! The mute box was checked but now I unchecked it and it works. Thanks a lot!

+Karma to nobody2000 now and to Tholek tomorrow!

Meh, he took the initiative and delivered the goods. If I take your karma, it would be for a deed undone.

What time tomorrow? ;)

heh.. I had the cords and everything.. I just couldn't remember how to do it. I looked in Volume control and didn't see that mic box. Then when he said something it reminded me to look in preferences and bingo!
