Tabbed for my pleasure

I've been fighting tabbed browsing for awhile, having been used to opening new windows. However, the new Google toolbar bug in IE has really left me using Firefox more and more often. Even with FF, I used to open more windows rather than tabs, but late to the party, I finally see the benefit in it. It just doesn't seem to crash the browser like multiple windows can.

I also hear there's this thing called "electronic mail". Maybe I'll give that a second look too...

I tell you what...if there was a way to Alt-Tab through tabs, I'd be a happy man...

There are several very helpful extensions. I think there's an old thread around that has a list of helpful extensions.

I use FasterFox, ADblock (except when doing offers), Forecast Fox, Google Toolbar, and a couple of others.

Also...
Hitting CTRL plus 1-9 give you those tabs..

So if google is open in tab 1, gmail in tab 2, and yahoo in tab three, and you are viewing tab one and hit ctrl 3 ittl go to the yahoo one.

Skips right over two.

So you can go directly.

Here's something else I just found out for those that didn't know. If you have a scroll on your mouse, just click that over a link and it will automatically open it in a new tab.

Try it out

oh cool, when I was playing around with it I was double clicking it, but only one is necessary.

Now I don't need the control-t function lol

Or if you use a tab extension, like Tab Mix Plus, you can configure links (all or just those external to the current site) to automatically open in a new tab.

You can also Ctrl-Click in vanilla Firefox to open links in a new tab.
