I'm looking to buy or custom order a new flatscreen lcd monitor since im getting a new mac soon.

I'm looking for a 15" or 17" flatscreen lcd monitor inbetween the $150-$200 mark give or take. I want something that will have amazing color, basic or cool design style and doesn't cost too much.

Keeping in mind that I live in Canada, try and direct me to an international site that takes paypal...or just link me to any site thats legit and popular incase I could custom order it from a freebie site.

Or if you can recommend any good one's from personal experience that'd be great.

+Karma for people who post links to monitors that I like )

PS Don't bother linking me too a crappy wal-mart type lcd monitor, I hate those

Hmm I forgot about the built in speakers feature.

Which is better in your opinions, built in speakers for lcd monitor or not? If not i'd also be looking for some cheap speakers maybe around $30-$40.

You can easily find 17", and even a lot of 19" LCD's, for under $200. So that shouldn't be a problem.

Built-in speakers suck donkey balls. They add no value whatsoever, so don't even consider them. Unless all you care to listen to is the standard Windows beeps and squawks, get a real set of speakers. IMO best speakers [id55689d5d4]for the money spent[/id55689d5d4] are Logitech's. You can get a kick-ass set of surround Logitech's for $50 if you shop around. My Z-640's cost me like 40-something, but they probably aren't made/sold anymore. If you're even considering using LCD speakers, then you probably don't have high expectations for speakers -- check out some of the 2.1 Logitech sets in the $30-$40 range.

LOL, a bit out of his budget range. ;)

BTW shipping from the US will incur customs/import duties and fees, which can potentially offset any savings. I don't recall the popular online vendors from Canuckistan, but I know there are a couple -- you'll probably wind up a with a bit better deal.

TigerDirect.ca is one you can check -- they usually require MIR's for their best deals, but I got an e-mail with some instant rebate LCD deals from their US site the other day.

Hehehe yeah. I really like the viewsonic 19" that are pretty cheap usually under 200$. We sell them at the store I work for after MIR to be about 180$. VA903b I believe is the model number. Newegg has it for like 240$ though. Hit up slickdeals and fatwallet too they lisometimesli have good lcd deals.

Check out anandtech's LCD buyer's guide it was extremely helpful when I went to buy my monitor. http//forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=31&threadid=1745344&STARTPAGE=1&enterthread=y
