I wanted to do something creative for my gf's birthday. I know she loves this ad with an evian mermaid. i wanna make a huge color one using rasterbator, but i really dont have time (i know she wont want the white paper border, so i'd have to cut a million sheets of paper. and she is a perfectionist, so they would have to be cut perfectly).

I know it's kinda "shady" to get someone else to do it, but, eh....

So if i wanted someone to print out a HUGE color one and cut the white borders out, how much should i charge for materials + labor??

Or.... does anyone here have a lot of free time and need money???

she would probally appreciate it more if you did it yourself. Unless of course you don't tell her you gave it to someone else to do lol. Or you could go down to your kinkos and ask them about it.

i would tell her i had it made for her, i wouldnt lie. She knows i am busy. Kinkos probably will not cut out the borders. And those giant paper slicing boards with the "samurai sword" thing on the side is temperment.al if it isnt aligned PERFECTLY.

Plus i dont know how rasterbator works. Does it save it as multiple images or what? I have to look into it more if i could do it at kinkos.

Go to an art store (or maybe a nearby highschool's art department) and cut the pages with the manual paper cutters (sometimes called guillotines)...this should give you perfect cuts in a fraction of the time.

Good luck.

i've printed out a picture from rasterbator, but the image is off. Like at the bottom, some pages stick out, while others fit. What do you think the problem is? I had to cut it out, so I might have cut it unevenly. And Dave82, rasterbator will supply the picture to print out without borders if your printer supports it. You need to check your printer settings though.

Thanks, i'll look into it. Even if it didnt clear to edge of the paper, if it came pretty close i dont think she'd mind.

yeah, that'll look fine too. And if you wanted to know more information, it will create a PDF file and when you print it, it will print out like 70 pages or how many you set it, then you just glue it. You get to set the dot size so you can set it to your preference. You can also go black and white or full color.

rasterbator?

Is it better to attach all the pieces of paper together at the edges on the back using tape and then hang it by putting the tape "loops" all over the back?

Or just piece by piece with the loop pieces of tape on back?

What about that sticky tack stuff? Anyone try that?

You take an image, and it prints it out for you in like 100 pages. Then you take them and glue them onto something and it makes it into a poster. So basiclly print out posters with a regular printer.

I want to make a mural for her. You want me to take a sharpie and draw a stick figure mermaid on on her wall??

I am doing and making things from the heart. This is just something extra. I know she likes that picture alot.

i like the mermaid.... but for a card. I know she would love the evian mermaid on her wall. She knows about his forum so she has seen this post and was all excited about it. She is even going to re-do her room's color scheme to match.

Tsmith - yes, why? Did you already do it for me?
