$1200 worth of world series tickets on my porch... WTF

yea thats right! maybe ups fucked up, maybe mastercard fucked up... I'm taking advice.

First of all let me say the ups overnight envelope was in my door when i got home, nobody signed for them. Inside there is a small blue folder thing that says "compliments of mastercard", inside theres another envelope with three packs of ten tickets each. These tickets are for Game 1, Game 2, & Game 3 of the San Diego Padres vs. the St Louis Cardinals. All of the tickets say "at Petco stadium", yet Game 3 is in st louis (does anyone know whats up with this?).

Game 1 is over, Game 2 is thursday and Game 3 is saturday. All i can think of right now is calling mastercard and asking them a hypothetical, without my name... just to see what they say. If i decide to sell them ebay, craigslist i guess?

anyone here live in SD?

edit also, fyi its addressed to me, with my name and phone number etc... Whats weirder is I've never had anything to do with mastercard, only visa. According to tracking this package left NY yesterday at about 3PM

So did you call mastercard? You realize selling property that's not legally yours, especially of high dollar value like this can result in charges right (like Federal ram-you-in-the-ass charges)? I might spend a day investigating to make sure you were supposed to receive the tickets before you put them up for sale.

And, if you sell the tickets above face value, then you've got real problems, unless you live in a state where scalping is legals (and there are plenty of states like that).

good advice.

I did end up calling mastercard and they didn't really know what to tell me. They gave me the name of someone to talk to at some other company that handles the sports tickets that they provide to certain cardholders/companies. I finally was able to talk to someone there who told me, if the package was addressed to me with my info on the front than the tickets were mine to keep. That was good enough for me.

With only 30 minutes left till the last overnight fedex truck left, i found a buyer on craigslist and had to settle on selling ten $40 tickets for $170.

still, best freebie evar! anyone want tix to game 5 at Petco (they better make it to game 5!)?

They are issued by games played at the stadium. Since game 5 could be the 3rd game at PetCo stadium it is considered game 3 ticket wise for that stadium.

ya. i actually just figured that out but i hope the padres make it to game 5 so i can make some more money! and tholek it actually $400-->$170 i'm not complainin
