IM IN search for a laptop

ok im about to get a laptop...used online.i dont no much about laptops..

Dell Inspiron 600m
Intel Celeron M - 1.4 Ghz
Windows XP Home Edition
256 mb RAM
60 GB hard drive

asking price is $400
should i buy it? i needed a laptop for just home use..no games or photoshop or watever.

You could get a better laptop for a lot cheaper. Even 6 months ago when I sold computers at Circuit City, we would frequently have laptops for that price that offers twice as much ram and a better processor (Sempron)

For about $400 it isn't the best. 256 RAM is really low and the new "standard" is at least 512. I'll scrounge up SD and see what I can find if you can give me a price range =)

Seriously, if you can, wait till sales are up. Its like a month till halloween (dun if ne sales then), then black friday, then christmas.

somewhere around $400-$550? maybe a bit more

Oh so thats what they call it all those compusa, best buy after thanksgiving sales and stuff. I thought it was going to be a bad thing.

You'll only be able to get one of the laptops if you spend the night and stand in line from midnight.

yeah black friday does not always yield great deals
check fatwallet though as the day approaches

BF DOES yeild great deals if you prepare for at least a week before. The problem with laptops on BF, is quantities, and the type of distribution at the stores. I remember there was quite a fiasco last year at Walmart when staff began throwing them high into the crowds. (

If you camp out at Best Buy, CompUSA, Circuit City etc, you will likely get one at a good price. (after rebates)
