I love everything Logitech.

If you're a gamer and like wireless, try the G7. The best I've ever owned, bar none. The G5 is the wired version, but honestly, since going wireless I could never go back to a cord. My first wireless mouse was a MouseMan Pro, then the MX700, the MX1000, and now the G7. Each one just gets better and better.

Logitech has a new mouse just coming out, the MX Revolution, that's not really geared for gamers but more for just heavy duty PC use.

Gaming mice are actually quite comfy. Most are wired, though.

Counter-Strike is the best! D Steampowered.com

They've got a large selection of FPS games all available to download through the program, Steam. If you want a gaming mouse you should definatly get a wired one. I've got the Logitech MX518 and it's amazing. Other good mice are the Razer Coppheads, the Fatal1ty 1010 is also great, and it's on sale at buy.com for it, only $40 then a $30 MIR(Mail-In-Rebate) so it's only $10. Just ordered it today.

Not Logitech's. The MouseMan Pro lasted for months on 2 AA's. For the MX700 I used rechargeable AA's and keep extras in the charger on standby -- the batteries lasted for about a week of heavy use, but with spare rechargeables on standby it was painless and cheap. The MX1000 used internal Lithium-Ion rechargeable batteries and also lasted about a week. The G7 comes with 2 Li-Ion battery packs and lasts about 2 days of heavy use, however one stays charging in the receiver cradle, and it only takes like 3 seconds to swap them out. I much prefer this approach over the MX1000's fixed battery, where if you forgot to dock it for charging, you were out of luck.

Bollocks! There isn't a better gaming mouse than the G7, IMO. P

Wireless mice have had a bad gaming rep, but it's undeserved. In the old days, wireless mice had too much lag for twitch gaming. But for YEARS now, since the MX700, none of Logitech's mice have lagged. Trust me, I've owned them all, and I game a LOT. I could lineverli go back to a cord. Once you cut that cord, I think you'll agree. ;)

What game's DON'T I play... )

I play most major FPS's when they come out, plus several RPG's. Also flight sims (which there has been a dearth of in recent years) and driving games like NFSUnderground.

Staple multiplayer games that I keep and play continuously are BF2, Guild Wars, and most Steam games. I've been a member of a mature gaming group, Crusty Old Fossil Rockers[=http//www.cofr.net]Crusty Old Fossil Rockers, for over 5 years now. ;) Brutus, a member here that I kinda got into the freebie scene, is also a member there.

I'm currently on game hiatus, but am itching to pick up where I left off in GWFactions, and I also miss BF2 with my fellow CoFR's, so as soon as work and home life settles down again, I'll be gaming again. When I do, you guys may not see me again for weeks. lol

Get the G7, it's awesome. You get two batteries that you can change really quickly. You can also carry it around with out having to take a bulky charging base with you, and it just feels great.

the mx700 was laggy as fuck compared to an mx500. this is a side by side comparison buy a 7 year UT player. wireless sucks. the g7 better be drastically better to be compared to wired.

ps where is the second thumb button? wtf. that is the only thing stopping me from getting a g5.

If you're still going "wireless mice suck for gaming, you noob!" then you obviously haven't tried the Logitech G7 that everyone is talking about. I have both the G7 and G5. I don't feel any lag difference between the two and I did a lot of FPS gaming over the summer. Only thing I don't like about the G7 is the glossy surface. I prefer the more rubberized solid texture of the G5. Another thing is that since I have an old version of the G7, it's but ugly in it's grey/sea green skin. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the higher end logitech mice. It'd be sweet if I could afford that damn Logitech MX[=http//www.amazon.com/Logitech-Revolution-Cordless-Laser-Mouse/dp/B000HCT12O]Logitech MX though
