Sony take a pop at MS's HD-DVD Announcement - "Will not enhance gamer experience"

Following on from Microsoft's HD-DVD announcement in Tokyo, Sony responded with a short statement which went along the lines of the HD-DVD on the 360 is useless for games and the PS3 can do 1080p out of the box with no Need for the patch.

Ummmmm I would choose my 360 over that ugly ass PS3 any day. And what is wrong with a price drop? It beats shelling out 500-600 dollars for the PS3.....

yea look at the past though dreamccast price drop no where to be found still i yet to see a good 360 must have that would make people buy it and yes i have one but never would have paid my own cash for it.

I finished the Freepay PS3 site when it first came out. I'm not too hyped about the PS3 though. I know that it's going to take a very long time to get from Freepay and I'm trying to stay calm about it.

Umm, referring to my secret decoder ring, I suspect you're asking about HD and the government mandate that all TV's support HD by 2009 or whenever it is (has been extended several times, will probably be again).

Last I heard the U.S. government was planning to subsidize HD converters for conventional TV's, so you shouldn't have to worry about replacing TV's if that goes through.

Not all of us are as lucky as dmorris to own a 1080p tv. ;)

If you just bought an HDTV in the past 6 years chances are you aren't planning on buying another you probably won't be seeing 1080p for a long time.

Don't get me wrong it's great they included it, but I don't see how it's a selling point.
