I'm trying to get a picture of a scene from a video of my band playing for a thumbnail for the website. Any program that does this well? Print screen and then going into paint doesn't seem to work right. Any other ideas?

I have used Snagit for a long time, it works great for stills, video, and more.

Yeah, but in the vein, telling me to google it doesn't help me at all. I know I could, but you just get a bunch of random software. You never know how well one particular piece of software will work.

yeah, but google would lead you to a bunch of softwares on download.com, and there it would show you the limitations and reviews of the software.

Which is why I gave him the URL to download.com so he could read and choose the best program that is best for him.

Or goooogler can give a reccomendation for a program he's used. I don't know why you have to be so angry about this. You could've just ignored it instead of being a pain in the ass.

P.S. You did the exact same thing. Hypocrite.

Also, goooogler, SnagIt isn't working with Windows Media Player. I think it's something inherent with WMP that refuses to let you take pictures of what's playing. It's pretty obnoxious.

I think it should work, are you using the trial version?

Yeah. No dice. Also, the CTRL-I thing from the second link doesn't work. But thank you.

Every forum has one grand ol' unhelpful douche like yourself. Kudos for being significant.

dude, my topic is different. I didn't know exactly what I wanted to convert to. I was asking people what format I should convert to. It wasn't something simple I could go to download.com for, and type in something and see the best software. I tried googling for my topic, but all that came up was "wma to mp3 converter, get free trial". I didn't know you were looking for a specific software that people used, I thought you just couldn't find one.

This is my last post on the topic, and I'm only making it cuz I've seen it done before. It doesn't matter what you "thought" I was doing. You're just being foolish by making a post at all. You contributed nothing to the thread, and made yourself look like an ass. So do yourself and all of us a favor and go away; you've provided no help and are merely trolling.

And this goes for anyone who makes the stupid "google comment" to people asking for help. Yeah, no shit you could google it. But I don't expect someone to google it for me; I would expect someone to give me a personal reccomendation, or ignore me. If I get no responses, I probably would have googled it myself and downloaded the first program I came upon. I'm not going to comparison shop; I need it for five minutes for one quick thing. So a personal reccomendation is more useful than a google search. Understand? Good, now, if anyone ACTUALLY has any idea what I'm doing wrong (I get a big black box where the video should be; it was mentioned in one of the linked threads, but it doesn't say how to fix it), it would be much appreciated.
