My hosting (dreamhost) runs out on the 21st. I'm going to make a new account so I can use a promo code again and then just upload everything but the one problem I have is my message board. Can I just make a back up of the forum how it is now, then re-install phpbb on the new server and upload the old backup file? Will that save all of the mods/members/threads/posts..etc? I also have phpmyadmin and easymod installed will I have to re-install these on the new server? Or can I just FTP up the entire forum file I have right now?

+karma for help

FTP it. If you backup the MySQL everything will be saved.

When you make a full phpBB back-up in your admin panel it will save all your mods/members/threads/post ect, yes.

can you make a new account, and use the same promo code to get the same 777 deal?

Yes, however bolth the 777 and 888 codes are done with. Right now the cheapest you can get it is with a $97 off code.

+K YGF and Akademikz i'll give you some when I can.

You could do a hosting OOD on OC for someone. Desperate people are offering alot of cash.

I think PHPMyAdmin comes with it. You just need to import the backup.

No, not unless it has the full discount.

True but with the amount of bandwidth I use dreamhost is my best bet.

what's the $97 off code, and how much after applying that will it be for the year of hosting?

Make sure you backup the SQL database through phpMyAdmin. That way it will restore flawlessly.

I made one awhile back its "FIPG" without the quotations. It takes the maxium amount off on all of the plans. For one year of L1 hosting (crazy domain insane plan) it takes $97 off making it $22.40 for a year. It takes $97 off of L2 and L3 aswell but most people olny ever need L1 and still can't use all of the disk space and bandwidth.

You can make promo codes worth $97. You have the choice to make it so they don't get any discount and you get all $97. Or you can make it so they get all $97 and you don't get anything. Or you can do like half and half or whatever.
