pre-order PS3 or nintendo wii sept. 18th with a twist

At Gamestop or EB games resevere a next-gen console sept. 18th BUT has to be a tradin up to 50 bux and for one week only or when stores decide.

You are GUARANTEED to get a Wii, but the date you get it IS NOT GUARANTEED (he specifically told me that you are not guaranteed to get your system on launch or anytime during the Christmas season).

Stores are going to give out launch systems based on chronological pre-order order. That means if you are the first one to pre-order/reserve your Wii, you will be the first one to get a Wii on launch day.

Reservations are limited to 1 per household.

If you want to know what exactly the text says at the bottom of the flyer, here it is "Cash or Store Credit will not be accepted. Reservations of the PlayStation 3 or Nintendo Wii are limited to one (1) reservation/purchase per household."

And the text near the GameStop logo at the bottom "All trades must be in working condition and are subject to manager approval. As GameStop cannot control production and shipping issues by the manufacturer, the reservation deposit will only gurantee a spot in line when the PlayStation 3 or Nintendo Wii becomes available. The reservation deposit does not guarantee reciept of a system available to purchase by Christmas."

Its garunteeing them to gain margin on console sales. Game resale is a huge margin driver, probably close to 50% return to them. Since consoles are 0% margin they can garuntee to make $25+ per console sale by doing this.

thats why your not a CEO, in the long term picture your looking at $25 once those games are sold vs $0 for cash right away. If they preorder out 100,000 systems using this method. Then long term they have made more than $2.5m vs $0

You didn't post the picture of the add but it's a mockup, gamestop and eb both are denying the ad so I'm pretty sure it's bs

in my managment class we were talking about the new ipods a teacher wanted the new ones she gose into the store and they act as if she was crazy hour later she walks out with the new ipod they dont tell employees everything so its prolly no BS cause the one i called said they were?!

Stores dont now what the heads are doing like when something comes out they have no idea about it like the ipods they did not know any info about new ipods till the day it happened

I'm going to preorder the wii somewhere else, this deal sucks.

I don't know for sure that it's bs, and I haven't called the gamestop nearest me, it's just something I read on another board.

And that article even says the ad could be made up so that's not much proof? But like it says I'm sure we'll find out for sure on Monday

I may jump on this for the ps3 preorder. Although I don't have the games to trade in because im a pirate ;9. I'll buy some off friends to trade in D
