important question about the new iPods.

I hate to make a new thread about this but I need to know tonight. The mods are free to lock this after I get my answer, if need be.

When is the earliest one could order an iPod? Their order page is all fucked up...

you can order them now and they will come in october. I just tried adding to cart and it works. Maybe it doesnt work for you when you enter in credit card or address, then I wouldnt know.

i dont know the exact date, but thats what was said at the press conference, and on the apple website. They'll probably release an exact date later.

all I heard was the shuffle will be shipped in oct.
don't know about the nano and the newer ipod video.

According to Jobs in the Keynote, the Nano and 5.5G iPods are already available. The Shuffle is the only one with a delay, available in October.

The video should ship in 1-3 days, the nano in 1 day, and the shuffle in October.

Nothing else. That's why it's being referred to as the 5.5G

They're also cheaper though. And they have the larger HDs.

The stores almost always get the iPods befoe the apple website starts shipping.

Anyway I can walk in to Best Buy or something with the FreePay iPod that will eventually arrive (I went STV today) and ask if I can get the 80GB and pay the difference?

f it was bought before the price drop, you can return it (as long as it's sealed) to an apple store, regardless of where it was bought from, for a 300 dollar refund. If it was bought after it, they'll give you 250 for it.

It depends on the store, not all will do this. Many have reported being declined for lack of receipt or due to it not being purchased directly from Apple. You need to call around and ask, just say you got it as a gift with no receipt, and will they take it back for store credit.
