Anyone else getting these 3 flashing rings lately? This is like the 5th time it has happened to me. Says hardware failure when you look it up on xbox.com...I was 6 hrs into Dead Rising when it shut itself off...! Is Microsoft doing anything about this?

I got something similair when I first had my xbox, perfect dark zero said it wasn't an xbox or xbox 360 game. So I called after fiddling for an hour or so, and they shipped out a box, but I never sent in my xbox, lol. They'll exchange it if you call.

I read that Dead Rising does this to many xbox 360s because it makes full use of the 3 processors. I get some stuttering in some situations but no red rings of death yet.

The power cord that connects to the back of my 360 was so hot when I unplugged, I actually burned myself! That much heat can't be good...Even though it has been 10 months, do you think they will replace it?

I had this same problem... first it started with the 360 screen freezing at random times.. and now it's gotten worse and now everytime i turn it on it gets to the 3 red flashing lights. I called up xbox live support and they are sending a package so i can send it back and they are either going to repair it or give me a new one.

I obtained the red lights once, but then I realized my cables weren't plugged in.

I have a Nyko fan on the back with plently of ventilation...However, Dead Rising requires a lot of time to beat the game (My 360 has yet to hold up long enough for me to beat it)

Save your game maybe?

I was going to get a Nyko fan but I decided not to as it plugs into the 360's power, doesn't it?

Why would that stop you from buying it ?

a google search shows points you to microsoft's site and they explain in detail what 1, 2,3, etc rings means. Check it out.

Dead Rising only allows you to save you stats and not the game...Only while playing can you save it, each time you turn it off, you start from the beginning...

I got the three rings when the electricity went out the other night, but my 360 has been freezing while playing Saints Row an AWFUL lot lately.

LOL I don't know what you're doing but you can definitely save your progress. I've been playing this since it came out.

If you save at the moment you die you have to start over (so you shouldn't do it) but otherwise the save works like any other game.

I have had my 360 on for over 10 hours at a time. Standing up, with no overheating.
