On the Discovery Channel so while I am awaiting it, so I would like to discuss it afterwards, so feel free to talk about it. The only rule, NO JOKES ALLOWED. As much as I like to joke, this isnt the time.

A two-hour special documentary to mark the fifth anniversary of this crucial event. The film will tell the story of the day itself, using the incredible narrative of the events as they unfolded.

what is it? what channel? and you mispelled towers

Veek

You mispelled towers.

And, inside? Inside as in how? During the attacks, or before the attacks? Is it similar to that documentary about the firefighters who caught the first plane and then taped themselves going inside?

Killer722

He fixed towers. Ya what channel and time already?

Jams44

03-09-2006 16:54:25

It's like a story on what happened from the perspective of every floor. So the floor that got hit, they show a rea life/CG perspective of the plane crashing through and killing people. It sounds gruesome but I am intrigued. I'm not quite sure what it will be like but I'm excited to see it.

I would rather see a REAL LIFE depiction of it rather than watching the Hollywood blobkbuster version. Somehow Nicholas Cage doesnt appeal to me.

He shouldn't have. His accent was terrible.

damn....its 5 years already. I remember that day like it was yesterday. Sad, sad, day....
The documentary sounds interesting though.

First commercial, so far it looks very good. I am alreayd getting a little sick to my stomach, I like how they are picking people from different floors.

I hated that movie, but it was good...

[Please don't read if you haven't seen the movie]

[spoilerb96b9b2bed]IMO, I don't think that they should have made the movie about the two guys that lived. You walk away from the theater with a happy feeling of 'life', but nothing about that day was happy, nor was there any 'life'. I think they said they pulled 32 people out of the rubel or something after the towers went down. 32 lived, 2,500 died. IMO, I just don't think they should have made a movie about life.[/spoilerb96b9b2bed]

Yeah I meant to edit my post (I just did).......

I don't think they should have made it about those two guys that lived.

(Back t the show) I feel really bad for that MetLife guy who said he didn't wanna leave his office because he thought his door wouldn;t opened, if he ahd gone any farther he would have saved his coworkers

but there was no way of knowing if anyone was over there, which is the unfortunate part.

that's what always gets in people's heads and forces them into mental hospitals. Why should he ha ve gone over there toward the fire? The answer is he shouldn't have, it wasn't his fault. It's now on the next commercial and the second plane has hit. That lady talking to her husband, and her husband telling her nothing happened to her building is really getting to me. This is very hard to watch as much as I am intrigued by it.

Jams44

03-09-2006 18:58:04

i wonder if the guys make it out of the sheetrocked elevator.

johnjimjones

03-09-2006 19:06:39

yeah i wondered how they were going to get through that sheetrock, i stopped watching after the second plane hit, too depressing for me.

TryinToGetPaid

03-09-2006 19:25:59

to all those watching, did you hear the explosions going from each floor?

And smoke comes out 4 floors down from where it is falling, like something exploded it out....hmm I guess we will never really know what truly happened.

Yeah, I am hooked. I really like how they presented it. I heart the discovery channel. brb cig break!!

hehehhehe

03-09-2006 19:49:37

Too many goddamn commercials. About half of the show is commercials. It's well done but Discovery is milking it a bit too much...

Why does everyone who uses this observation fail to recognize the possibility that with something as massive as a 200'x200'x however tall the section above the inferno was, you could potentially have dust and debris being forced down before being forced out windows 2-3 stories below?

Plus, the engineer in the documentary said that the structural steel was failing....Loose Change likes to quote people saying "It SOUNDED like an explosion" and say my favorite "According to wikipedia" but NO WHERE will they say anything about this engineer...who I assume to be a real person.

johnjimjones

03-09-2006 20:05:49

how does steel melt below it's melting temperature?

[2143] Waterflodys25[/color434398c968] Oh hello, from FiPG? You watchin TV right now?
[2143] ThatBoyNamedDrew[/color434398c968] did you see those explosions
[2143] ThatBoyNamedDrew[/color434398c968] below where it was falling?
[2143] ThatBoyNamedDrew[/color434398c968] yeah and yeah
[2143] Waterflodys25[/color434398c968] Oh yes, that was the air from above pushing shit out.
[2143] Waterflodys25[/color434398c968] As the pressure built up/
[2144] Waterflodys25[/color434398c968] The weight of the building falling caused everything to fly out with high pressure.
[2144] ThatBoyNamedDrew[/color434398c968] hmmm ok
[2144] Waterflodys25[/color434398c968] Does that make sense?
[2144] ThatBoyNamedDrew[/color434398c968] yeah

wasn;t posted, but we were certainly talking about it, strange how you brought that up.

fuel along with oxidation could certainly get over 1000+ or even 2000+

OldManWrigley

Wow what a great program, very well done. I liked it a lot better then the movie that came out....

That's just IMO though shrug

TryinToGetPaid

03-09-2006 20:12:53

I did not see the movie, but I agree. It was VERY well done.

Jams44

03-09-2006 20:15:47

Yes, I would suggest it to any people interested in this type of documentation. As for the movie with Nichoals Cage, I wouldn't pay shit to the industry, why make money on peoples nightmares (isnt that every movie?) If anything I'll ILLEGALLY download it and give my $20+ to the memorial.

OldManWrigley

I think 10% of sales goes to some donation for 9/11
