Alright, this has been getting on my nerves

Everyday i wake up take a shower w/e (i put my deoderant/antipersperant on). When i get to school or wherever my underarms start "leaking". that would be the best word to describe it. Im sweating under my arms, but I didnt work out or anything, just sitting down minding my business. Most of the time, its not noticible, but its really annoying. Can anyone help me or reccommend something? thanks

Maybe try drinking a bottle of water in the morning...?

I have no idea really. Just use roll-on and don't put on too much.

You could just be over actively sweaty. If over the counter deodorant does not help, go see a doctor.

Look man occasionally I have the same problem. I'll be sitting in class taking notes, not even feeling hot, and all of a sudden feel a drip down like my side........

I suppose you just have to keep putting on the deoderant and perhaps it will go away once the fall comes shrug

See a doctor immediately. That is the #1 symptom(and earliest) of heartworm. It's mostly a pet problem but humans can get it too.

Luckily you noticed it early so hopefully things won't progress. The heartworms cause problems in the pulmonary arteries and it can lead to ventricular dilation or even heart failure if it gets serious enough.

http//www.bio.miami.edu/dana/106/heartworm.jpg[" alt=""/img5bb7a5e587]

That is what they look like. They cause stress on the heart which leads to heart problems and sweating like that.

Definitely see a doctor because it can get a lot worse. Deoderant and showers should take care of your sweating but not for victims of heartworm.

h3x

01-09-2006 16:18:09

Damn... That's a serious case of heartworm

tml09

01-09-2006 16:19:26

^you being serious? lol

h3x

01-09-2006 16:22:03

No he isn't... Don't worry, it's not heartworm.

But, it sounds like it could be either anxiety or SAD (social anxiety disorder). You might want to see a doctor so he can determine whether you have anxiety or that it might be something else. Regardless of what it is, it doesn't sound serious.

That kind of shit isn't something to joke about. What if he had actually believed you? Do you really get a kick out of making someone panic like that? It's not humorous in any way, shape or form.

I've observed tml09's posts before and I knew that he was the type of guy who could take a joke like that. No one would take me seriously anyway without googling it or asking someone else or confirming it anyway.

I really don't see it as a big deal at all.

tml09

01-09-2006 16:31:26

^anything about the body is nothing to joke about. My family has a history of heart disease and my dad died from a heart attack. -(

J4320

01-09-2006 16:35:29

Alright alright I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I seriously would not care at all if someone did this to me. This type of thing just happens on public internet forums.

You would have better luck googling it, visiting a health forum, or seeing a doctor instead of asking here.

But again, I'm sorry if I offended you.

tml09

01-09-2006 16:38:29

J4320

01-09-2006 16:40:23

Alright cool. If I knew that it was going to offend anyone I wouldn't have posted that. I assumed you would check Google and figure out that the simptoms didn't even match up(not that you needed to, I would have said I was messing with you a few posts down). ;)

Actually, I wouldnt blame it on puberty. I used to have the same thing happen throughout high school and would even be wet in the dead of winter.

After highschool it stopped and I wouldnt sweat even in 100 degree summer days but recently it started again.

I think it all comes down to deoderant and how much you apply. You need to let you pits breath.

I found the best deodorants to try are Gillette Extreme (gel) and Mitchim which is probably as strong as you'll get without getting a doctor prescribed one. Try both and see what happens. I also know that a lot of people sweat when they where tight shirts and what not that are tight around the underarm. Gives your arm not room for breathing

tml09

01-09-2006 17:05:20

^ i hate gel, but ill give it a try. Never heard of mitchum. I guess ill go shopping tommorow -)

ffactoryxx

01-09-2006 17:15:08

Mitchum is strong as hell. Try both the men's and woman's Mitchum. See if either works. If not try the ultimate over the counter called Certain-dri. Its really powerful.

I did a lot of work in school in Bio Lab and we tested some of these before in a few studies we were doing in class.

Lasltey, if those don't work, go to a Dr. and have him check for thyroid problems. This can cause underarm sweating and most times goes untreated because people just think its a problem that is caused by the deodorants

anti-perspirant makes me sweat more, so I just use deodorant shrug worth a try maybe?

Dave82

01-09-2006 17:43:19

isnt the high amount of aluminum in mitchum linked to something like cancer or somehting like that? i read a journal article about it once.

Psyc

01-09-2006 17:44:27

I saw some lady take part in a study for that today on the news. She got botox to her pits. shrug

theysayjump

01-09-2006 17:51:34

I'd suggest staying away from anti-perspirant deoderants. The aluminium that's in them can accumulate in your brain which can lead to Alzheimers Disease.

Also, just constantly putting deoderant on won't do it any good. If you're sweating for no reason, you should see a doctor.

It can also depend on your diet.

That was it!

Ya, some people dont wear deo/anti. I never got that. This one girl in my class is like that. I overhead her talking about it one day. I never noticed her smelling bad. I guess your body adjusts.

personally i would never imagine it not being a part of my daily routine.

She is the hippie type though.

A few things that can help prevent underarm sweat

1. After taking your warm/hot shower, take a minute to gradually lower the temperature to a COOL temperature. This helps your body adjust to altering temperatures, trust me it works (ITS SCIENCE).

2. Use a feminine anti-perspirent (someone said SECRET and even BAN) they are more into the anti-sweat more than the anti-smell.

3. If none of these work see a dermatologists, thye can give you a cheap botox shot that can stop it for months/years. I've had this dine before , its very affordable (usually insurance covers it), and I don't see why you/your parents wouldn't agree to it. Talk top your doctor he know best.

tml09

01-09-2006 18:45:58

I guess ill try that then, jams. Science always gets me Lol.

Im gonna try everything, and if it doesnt work, im never taking a shower again -)

Just dont BAN me -) Im so funny
