so i was using

www.eztvefnet.org (which was the best site EVA)
and tvtorrent.info

Last week I got a DMCA violation letter from HBO for a show I got from eztvefnet. So be careful with those torrents. Usenet is definitely the way to go these days.

Damn, what happens if you get one of those notices.

But i hear that if u use PG2 (thats peer guardian 2) ur legit. It basically filters out all the homos who wanna bust you for downloading stuff.

I was using PG2. It only helps you if the feds happen to be on the list of blocked IPs.

Torrents are just way too insecure these days. Stay away. Then again, do whatever you want. Good luck explaining to your parents why the FBI is knocking on the door.

http//forum.freeipodguide.com/viewtopic.php?t=23546&

if you sign up for a newshosting account I have a associate account there and make 10% of what you pay them and need some more refs ) pm me for link.

wait so if you are downloading the headers, then cant you just share them with other people? damn $15 is kinda steep considering people want to download stuff for free. i dont even download that much so it wouldnt be worth it for me.

use ur isps but there gonna suck i like to pay but i max out my line 24/7 300 gigs a month, yo

PsychoAU

Dude, it is much better to pay $10 a month (which I do) to get maximum speed and the security of knowing you aren't being tracked. I have gotten so much stuff in my 13+ years of downloading that I am fine with paying a bit each month for it. The amount I get in a month now is totally worth more than what I pay for it.

Would you rather spend $10 a month now or pay attorney's fees when they bust you?

manOFice

28-08-2006 05:15:49

That is why torrents suck.

if you don't use it that much find one or two people to split the bill with and share it.

I still dont get this. So you buy a user account to do what? I just downloaded News Rover, and clicked search and started downloading the files. What else do I have to do?

You probably have a newsgroup server with your ISP -- you had to point it at a news server lisomewhereli. The problem with "free" ISP newsgroup (NNTP) accounts is that they are spam-ridden, fragmented, never have complete sets, etc. The paid services are much more reliable.

How much data can you dl with that $10-15???

PsychoAU

28-08-2006 18:17:31

Giganews gives you 25 gigs for $12. Different places have other deals. Free servers usually limit bandwidth and filter out binaries, etc. You can do the same thing on some free servers that you can do on pay ones, but it is alot more work involved in finding a good one. I picked the easy way out and decided to just pay for it.

25gb month??? Thats why ive always strayed from usergroups

The main reason being they never have anything im looking for where it be dvdrips, tv shows, games etc.

Thats why torrents are superior. Anything you want for the most part

wow, this is really pissing me off to download ) I get most parts, and then it stops. So I guess I am getting a usenet thing from my ISP then. What is the difference between paid and using the one from my ISP? Also, I need to test it out to see if it actually works. If someone can send me any NZB file to get something, i would give you +karma.

Those missing parts are what you pay for. ;)

i get them all but the last .par2url==http://=http:///url part. The rest download fine. I dunno. So if I sign up for the 50c a week NZB listing site, I can use usenet without the server fee because my ISP provides it? (i still dont know what the difference is between ISP provided usenet service and paid)

You obviously have no idea how usenet works. You don't even need any of the Par2 files unless you need to repair the archive. And even then you only have to get the par2 files that you need to repair it.

And to the poster who says nothing is available on usenet, you seem not to know how to use it either. Find some decent groups and you will find just as much as torrents.

The same kind of people who used Napster complained that anything else was too much work to use. And we all know how that turned out.

Though I don't know for certain, I would guess any network can gain access to a private tracker just as easily as a public one.

Kidd

most newshosting sites offer unlimited with unthrottled speeds

Totally. I mean look at the Demonoid thread. It's "private" but you can pretty much invite everyone and they're FBI-employed brother so I wouldn't count on too much privacy of torrents, regardless of the source.
