[quote25c06de8a5][quote25c06de8a5="-[ZoU]-Eman"]1. Once you've loaded up firefox go to the address bar and type aboutconfig
2. Right click and select New >>> Integer
3. Name the integer nglayout.initialpaint.delay
4. Change the integers value to 0
What this does is tells firefox to wait 0 milliseconds before loading the page so the page loads extremly fast.

That's pretty old news, though the tweaks are useful. Here are some more tweaks
http//www.hackaday.com/entry/1234000803024910/
The tweaks will only be a benefit to broadband users and that's why they're not included in Firefox by default.

Already had Fasterfox installed, so when I tried this, I noticed it duplicated a default entry of the same name and value, but as "user set" instead. So, look for it first in case you forget if you have Finetune or Fasterfox extensions installed or not.

some people have been telling me that this might reduce firefox's ability to catch the things, making it more secure than IE that it normally catches..
any help?

Will this work for flock also? Flock is from some former firefox developers and it's pretty cool.

[b0b3e4e7748]Does this automatically reset back to default values when you update firefox versions?[/b0b3e4e7748][/size0b3e4e7748]
...i think it does ?
Tholek
28-08-2006 13:31:30
Nope, not with Fasterfox, and then only if the version of Fasterfox needs to be upadated. (If it isn't compatible with the new build)

None of the aboutconfig properties reset with a Firefox update. They're maintained in your profile, so as long as your profile is kept intact, so will all of your settings.

lol here we go again...
I don't know EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING, just maybe a lot about the tech questions you guys tend to ask. Notice I don't answer topics that I have no experience/interest in. P
I've been an engineer in the computer field for nearly 20 years now, plus have had a healthy supply of hobbies. Combine that with my obsessive thirst for knowledge in any area that interests me, and the result is that I'm a veritable fountain of useless knowledge. ;)
