Ok, well what first started out as two barely noticeable but itchy spots has now turned into all out hell. Its all down my arms, around my neck, ears, chest, and knees. I am putting cream on it and even had a steroid prescribed but it just doesnt seem to stop spreading and its driving me mad!!

Does anyone know what the hell is going on or perhaps how I can end this?

(Oh and by the way. This is the first time I EVER got poison ivy in my entire life and it just so happens to occur five days before going off to college...)

Thanks

I couldn't tell you personally, but I'm guessing WikiHow can.

im on like day 5 of the sterioids with 7 more days to go, i have been puttin the cremes on, i got it everywhere as well, and some patches are fading away but its popping up a lil in diffrent spots as well, wash ur sheets every night, dont sleep with covers on to let ur skin air out, take bendryl as well as it helps stop the itching, i take my pills in the mornin with 50mg of bendryl then 50mg of bendryl at night, and i put the cream on about 4 times a day as suggested.

SARNA is different than topical steroids or benadryl. It is more effective on reducing itch. (IMO, anyhow)

atarax/vistaril is better than benadryl for itch.
SARNA, havent used it.
he is on oral steroids which should help immensely. I got a bad case of poison ivy a week before my boards and it was around my eyes. i got some prednisone, just a short course, it cleared it right up. do not forgot to wash wash wash after u get the initial outbreak b/c if the substance that u react to is still there, it will get worse.

I've taken Atarax, and it works, but it, and Benadryl, work internally, and take time in doing so. I'm not saying [if2fe14c3a7]not[/if2fe14c3a7] to take them. You certainly should, but SARNA will work topicaly to relieve itch much faster, and is worth taking until the other stuff kicks in. Even then, you may feel it works better.
