Hey. I am interested in investing in the stock market. I already have a ScottTrade account with funds in it. What sites would you reccomend me to reccomend me what kind of stocks to trade and what to look for in a good stock? Thanx!

it is actually fairly hard to find a decent stock tip site. that's because everybody is so biased about which stocks they choose and why. you can check out http//www.fool.com for the motley fool advice, and there are some online investment places that allow you to look up "tips".
but, to find advice about investing, i usually turn to books. i know you really aren't wanting to spend months on learning how to invest, but the more information you have about investing the better.
i basically try to gather a broad look at what the stock is like. the more you consider about a stock, the better chances you will know about how strong it truely is.
good luck!

Well, I was serius. I can't garuntee anything, But I have around 5k, Sitting in ELN right now. The share price doesn't mean anything because you're looking at the percentage gain every day. When google moves up 20$ in one day its only 5% Gain. if ELN moves up 20$ its over 100%. ELN is not a "Safe" company. Anything could happen. I've done some research and believe its worth a buy. Also keep in mind. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Meaning, diversify a bit.
i suggest that you read finance forums and talk to people who do this for a living (not to take away from anyone here). do you have any retirement packages? a matching 401k is a great way to put money away for later in life. instant 100% return, of course u cant touch it for years but it is SO worth it.
a solid return over the next 5 years will be the various oil companies...
