I just recieved a new Mac Mini G4 from EBay. I want to format the harddrive and give it a fresh install of all the software, but the guy I bought it from did not give me the admin password. Do any of you know how to reset or override the admin password on a mac? Or know how to boot from my install CD? Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe

The install CD should be bootable, and it should walk you through reformatting the drive and installing OS X.

how do I boot from the CD? Just put it in when the computer is off?

It just has to be in the drive when the computer is starting...

You have a legitimate install CD and it doesn't boot? Something's wrong. You don't see any prompt when you're booting? Also try holding down the option key while booting.

I figured it out. I had to go into system settings and select 'boot using cd drive.' For some reason it wouldn't auto-boot the CD.
I'm formatting this mean little machine right now!
I don't have the standard mac keyboard either. I'm using a Gyration wireless keyboard and mouse combo I bought off Woot.com.
Thanks for the help!
