Ok, so heres the deal. My computer teacher @ school was involved in a flood, and his 42" Rear-Projection Panasonic was submerged 2-3"s in water, all the optical equipment is ok, but whenever he turns it on, he gets a power up, but then it goes to an error screen, do they make replacement components for tv's like that?

Thanks for any help...

It's most likely a short and/or corrosion in the control board due to the water. Doesn't he have insurance? If that's what it is, it will be pricey to have fixed unless he can find a used part. He should probably take it to a service center and get an estimate.

I think the most sensible solution is to simply buy a new one... The service fees and RMA isn't worth the trouble.

actually i'm pretty sure that the reason dudeextrem posted this, was because he's thinking about buying the tv and getting it fixed...therefore, saving money 8)

lol, well i was jw, if there was a random site that got used tv's and ripped them up for parts... i've tried googling it, but I'm gonna ask him for the model number, and maybe that will help.... thanks guys
