Hey,

I am buying a new desktop from Walmart (Have A Giftcard) and so I need help choosing a desktop to buy. I am looking for a price range of $500-$600 and just need a computer to play Guild Wars Nightfall on when it comes out. Here are the choices I have narrowed it down to.

HP Pavilion Media Center A1473w Desktop w/Intel Pentium 4 Processor 620 2.80GHz
# 2.80GHz Intel Pentium 4 620 w/HT
# 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM
# 200GB hard drive
# ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 graphics

HP Pavilion Media Center a1510n Desktop PC w/ 2.4GHz AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Processor
# AMD Athlon 64 3800+ processor
# 1024MB PC-3200 DDR SDRAM
# 200GB 7200 rpm hard drive
# Integrated NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE Graphics with TurboCache supporting up to 256MB shared video memory

If I do buy one of these two, will I need to upgrade the graphics card to play Nightfall? Both have a vacant PCI express slot...

Well I like AMD more than Intel but integrated graphics are never good. If I had to choose from those 2 I'd say go with the Intel but if you are willing to spend a little more go with the AMD and get an aftermarket video card.

I think the performance of both the CPUS and integrated graphics are quite similar so I guess you should just choose on personal preference. Guild Wars Factions doesn't seem that graphics intensive but I don't know how nightfall (I don't know if it's more like an expansion or a total upgrade) will be. Maybe you will be fine, and if necessary, you can just buy a cheap $50-60 vid card.

Integrated graphics sucks so if you have some cash I'd still recommend buying a card either way.

It also steals RAM from the system ?
