When we were in Florida, we had a family picture taken. We took my brothers girlfriend with us, and when they broke up during/immediately after the trip, I decided to edit her out of the picture, since shes technically not part of the family anyway.

It took me a long ass time and I think I did an okay job, although I know that most of the people here could do better than me.

Now I want to move my mom from down on the ground to up on the boat with all of us. I already did a rough version of it, but I'm too lazy to finish it.

How'd I do?

Yeah, it looks pretty good. But if I had to nit-pick anything

Where you cloned his left arm over to the right, it looks very un-natural. Like he's freezing/shivering or something, and holding his arms stiff against his body. If you take a bit more time and tweak the arm a bit, just to bend it slightly at the elbow perhaps, and move the hand out a slight bit so that it isn't so symmetrical, it would look almost perfect.

Good job on fixing the back door immediately behind her, but the bulkhead toward the front of the boat is also a little fake looking -- a little too smooth. If you notice in the first pic, there is a seam/crack that runs down, right, then down again. You've removed it completely in the chopped pic, and it just doesn't look quite... right.

But still a great job, especially for someone professing to have no chop skillz. ) Honestly, other than maybe his arm, I don't think I'd pick this out as a chop job without seeing both pics together like this.

Yeah I totally agree with you on the arm, I just didnt know what else I could do except copy the other one, but now that you gave me the idea to change the angle thats a really good idea.

And on the second thing you were talking about, if youre talking about the grey part, then again I totally agree and didnt know what else to do. I dont know why but i just copied that same grey part over and over but it came out looking fake or something.

But about my arm, also, I was thinking that when I paste my Mom over it, it would cover the arm anyway. I didnt really even need to completely get rid of my brothers girlfriend, but I thought it would be easier to put my mom in after she was completely gone.

In case any of you were curious, heres how I was gonna paste my mom in, very roughly

http/" alt=""/img156.imageshack.us/img="156/1927/qerqerdj6.jpg[" alt=""/img6c55e5aa6a][=http//imageshack.us]http/" alt=""/img156.imageshack.us/img="156/1927/qerqerdj6.jpg[" alt=""/img6c55e5aa6a]

probably like that, but this was the other option

http/" alt=""/img175.imageshack.us/img="175/7349/ereqrap2.jpg[" alt=""/img6c55e5aa6a][=http//imageshack.us]http/" alt=""/img175.imageshack.us/img="175/7349/ereqrap2.jpg[" alt=""/img6c55e5aa6a]

Of course I would take out the other her and make her look better, plus shrink her down since shes closer to the camera than the rest of us, making her taller (shes not taller in real life)

But anyway, I thought I did good mainly because I dont have like Adobe or anything, I used the stupid editor that came with my digital camera.

Yeah, dont you print it out on paper, then laminate it over a PVC?

justinag06

23-08-2006 14:23:25

yeah thats what I did. You can just do it yourself. serch on DC or bitorrent for some good templates. Find one, preferably an out of state license that looks good. Edit all your info and print on HQ glossy papper. This is where we had trouble as when we first printed ours the ink ran.

then go to kinkos, or if you are worried buy a laminater from walmart and return it after you are done using it.

don't expect it to look good though, and beware the consequences of carrying a fake ID, and presenting it as your own, especcially to police officers.

around here I had friends get a $2000 ticket(after it was reduced via a plea with a lawyer) for failure to ID. Friends that had their fake ID's confiscated had to pay an additional $1000 fine.

Yeah, dont you print it out on paper, then laminate it over a PVC?[/quote57b3c7c243]

Heh, no, that would be SO easily recognizable. The print and photo is printed directly on the plastic card -- at least here in Georgia. There is no "laminate" on the card at all. In some states the DL#, DOB, and sometimes an "underage at time of issue" marker is embossed into the card as well, kinda like CC numbers. The underage marker makes ID checks quicker for those older folks who've renewed their license since turning 21, and likewise causes more scrutiny of your ID if it's present.

People who check ID's in most cases know exactly what to look for. Unless you have professional equipment, or pay a pro to get one, you can pretty much forget making a passable fake ID for most states on your own. And getting caught with one can land you in serious trouble in a lot of places.

And speaking as the resident Old Fart, that is as it should be. P

justinag06

23-08-2006 14:29:40

I also forgot to mention that we only ever used ours at one corner store by our apartments, as dmorris said they look fake as hell and the people know what to look for. I never carried it with me unless it was to that specific corner store to buy a 30 pk, and after 1 month or so I stopped getting carded.

Is it just me or does that highlighted part seem a bit... oh... "contradictory" is the word I'm looking for. )

Having looked at a lot of fake ID attempts, I'll argue that you're right "fake ID's" are quite easy to make. However I"ll also argue that "good quality fake ID's that pass even a cursory inspection by a knowledgable person" are not quite so.

That said, there are a few states who are behind the curve on hi-tech ID"s, so those are the ones you want to imitate if you insist on doing so. However I have to believe that the people who check ID's are aware of this as well. Especially the police who can verify an ID in seconds.

You youngsters amaze me at what lengths you're willing to go to buy booze. When I was a kid we just got an older person to buy it for us. Here's a hint join the military. The post Class VI store doesn't card, and if you go to Europe or are stationed near the Mexico border, you can drink all you like and not worry about it. ;)

tylerc

23-08-2006 14:46:55
