iPod Shuffle corrupted

So I accidentally yanked the Shuffle out of my USB drive before safely removing the hardware, and now it's corrupted. The little info card from the Shuffle box says that when it blinks from green to orange when you hit a button, your Shuffle has to be reconnected to a computer and re-run iTunes to reformat/resync the thing.

Well, let's just say that iTunes won't recognize the Shuffle if I put it in after loading iTunes and that iTunes also won't startup if I plug in the Shuffle before clicking on the iTunes symbol.

I also can't manually format it by right clicking on it and selecting "Format".

I'm running an ancient desktop on Windows XP and really can't wait the week for my Macbook to come in, so what do you suggest? I haven't tried seeing if I could "Scandisk" the thing or juse the defragmenter to format it somehow.

Same thing happened to my shuffle. I returned it to Bestbuy and got a refund.

It's a very senstive product. Unlike most other usb connected electronics, if you plug it in and plug it out without disconnecting it manually from bottom right, it gets messed up.

I got mine from iPodSweepstakes, took me like a month and a half to earn enough points for the sucker.

I'm gonna try uninstalling iTunes, the updater, and downloading a fresh copy of everything off Apple.com, hope it works.

BTW The updater I currently have does NOT function, it just freezes up.

It happened to me too. I yanked it from my laptop and it didnt recognize it for a few days. Eventually it recognized it, but all my music was gone.

I got mine from ipodsweeps too. )

Try and plug it into another comp with iTunes.

Hm I should try that, considering how I got my Macbook already. But I got a free Nano from the "Buy a Mac, get a free Nano" offer so I'm good...

Mine got killed going through the wash. It's okay now because I have got a 4GB Nano in place of it. )

that works too. My nano wasnt working and I dropped it on the couch. It then went on by itself and it worked. lol

I just slammed it on the table, still nothing haha. I might just like chuck it out or something

I'm having the same problem as you unknown uchiha...very frustrating.

Oh well, I have a Nano so it's all good. But I'd still like to get the Shuffle working eventually to like sell off to someone =D
