There are utilites you can download that will "un-delete" anything that hasn't been completely removed. Some files may be in good or bad condition and you may or may not be able to get them all back.
Do a search for undelete files or file recovery.

If he did delete stuff, turn off your computer ASAP to keep as much as the data from getting deleted. Then use another computer to Google for programs that recover deleted data.
I beleive Leo Laporte (for you TechTV people) recommends [ur=http//www.grc.com/spinrite.htm]SpinRite for data recovery.

i downloaded spinrite but i don't understand how to use it, and i'm really bad at computers lol
secondly, it was MSN chat logs and other shit like that, i was lucky he didn't delete my music.
I recommend easy recovery pro but you are required to use a secondary drive to recover deleted data.

Be sure not to defrag until your data is recovered.

Why would he delete the stuff in the first place?

Spinrite doesn't recover deleted files, it recovers damaged sectors and file contents.
There are tons of undelete utilities out there, aside from Norton's I can't even name one off the top of my head. Just Google.
However if you have used the computer and written any data to it since the deletion, your odds of a full recovery are virtually nil. You may be able to recover some files though. Any time you delete a file, it remains on the hardrive intact, but the space is flagged as available, so the next time you write data it can overwrite parts of the original file, making it unrecoverable short of sector editing for just bits of data.
