Does anybody know anything about alienware computers. They look really cool, but how do they compare to something like Dell? Are they worth getting unless you get the real expensive ones?

Alienware is owned by Dell.

I personally think they are overpriced, especially the cheaper ones. The only reason you would get an Alienware computer in my opinion is for hardcore gaming.

Def overrated especially for desktops, you can build your own for so much cheaper.

Yeah, Alienware laptops are pretty nice, but I wouldn't touch their desktops. I build them much better, and sometimes even cheaper. And their customer service is notorious for being worse than Dell even.

Dell's customer service is only bad when you aren't under warranty (mostly because money gets involved). Otherwise they're just fine.

I haven't had much trouble with Dell CS myself, since I don't need it unless a part fails under warranty (and then my company handles the support ticket, not me). But I've heard enough horror stories and read enough articles to realize Dell's support still leaves a lot to be desired. )

But then again, so do most big PC vendors.

However Alienware has been known to royally screw over their customers.
