...a thing that you plug from a portable cd player to a cigarette lighter and then plays through the car speakers? Im driving for 6 hours by myself tomorrow and the car im taking only has a radio...

i'd go with a tape player one (if it has a tape player in the car) Also it works w/ ipod too... but the tape player one is better quality and doens't use batteries...
just my opinion from FM transmiters

well it doesnt have a tape player. every store is closed now, so i went to walmart and just got a crappy fm transmitter. as soon as i get to where im going im going to find a better one and return the one i got tonight. thanks guys!
