Has anyone set one of these things up?

I want to be able to catch Redskins games from Ohio; thinking about investing $150 on a box.

My friend actually bought one of these and set it up with his comcast digital cable box. He used it on an airports wireless connection a few times and said it wasn't too bad. If you are able to have a good connection then it works out pretty good.

I wanna know

- If I can use the slingbox with a regular tv (no cable/satelite)
- If I can put the slingbox at a friends house and use it
- How to use the slingbox if I don't have a ethernet cable near the TV

Any of these can be used with a slingbox. (antenna, cable, satellite, DVR)

If he has a broadband connection you can set the slingbox up there and watch it from a pc anywhere else that you have a connection.

You can set up your slingbox to use a wireless connection 2 ways.

This is from the website.

There are a couple of ways to connect the Slingbox to a wireless network

1. Use wall plug bridges, which use your existing in-home electrical outlets to connect devices to a network. These wall-plug devices—also known as HomePlug or Powerline bridges—are easy to set up and use with the Slingbox.
2. Use a wireless bridge and place it next to your Slingbox so the Ethernet cable that comes with the Slingbox connects to the wireless bridge. Connect the bridge to your router, following the instructions that come with the bridge that you use.

I assume that the SlingLink Powerline Ethernet Adapter ($99) would do the job.

Yea, I thought of that....but in the long haul I wouldn't want to pay that much. The cost of the Slingbox with Slinglinks are about $200. With the Slingbox, you can watch anything and anywhere there is a connection. And this technology will only get better in the future with faster upload speeds & updated software.

For me, it would be really useful in hotels, airports, and at home (I have no cable TV).
