Yeah I think this year they are trying to seperate ACL from Lolla a little more. Don't get me wrong ACL's lineup is spectacular, but Lolla's is a little more to my tastes and more like ACL was last year.

You going to ACL?

I have 3 extra tickets if you're looking to buy

I totally agree with you, ACL last year was invasion of the Brit Pop bands, i.e. Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs, Oasis. I prefer Lolla's lineup alot this year. I have a ticket but I have friends who are looking for some. Are they three day passes or what?

I wasn't sure about Wolfmother. They look cool and from what I've read they seem to be something I'd like. From Australia right?

Also, what's wrong with Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs and Oasis? wink

I've heard good things about both of those but what are they like?

justinag06

01-08-2006 20:08:18

ILYBICD is good, they are a local band out of austin. I haven't really gotten into them yet though, so I can't really compare them.

Iron & Wine, is amazing though. Kind of indie folk, it's one guy Sam Beam, and he plays all the instruments on the albums. I've been a big fan for about 3 years.

I totally dig all of those bands, I am actually goin to see Bloc Party in Austin, Tx next Thursday, I was sayin that I liked that lineup alot, cause that was the year of Brit Pop. I haven't had the chance to figure out my ACL lineup but I know it will include Tom Petty (susposedly his last tour) and Damian Marley as well as the Flamming Lips (gotta represent for the Oklahoma bands) and I LOVE the Kings of Leon too!

Justinag06, where are you from in TX?

justinag06

02-08-2006 17:56:55

the kings are great but up against iron and wine, this would be a mortal sin for me to miss them

last years lineup was great.

now for some Ryan Adams, with a bottle of whiskey!

Hey guys chillin at the AT&T Lolla Lounge now!! The Raconturs I think was the BEST most AMAZING set I have ever seen. They did a cover of Nancy Sinatra's Bang Bang! and it f'n rocked!! Oh, and Kanye did a cover of Crazy too so that makes three times its been played at the festival so far. I must say that the Go! Team was insane and had a hell of a time on stage. I will have more for you later...gotta go see the Redwalls.
