I like both of these mice, but I can't decide on which one.

I want a mouse that I can use at home and at school during online classes.

The carbon fiber G7 looks great, it uses replaceable batteries, and it uses a dongle. The only problem that I have with it is that it's missing the forward button! (

The MX1000 has everything I'd ever want in a mouse, but it uses the docking station. If only there was a way to make it work with a dongle. ?

For those of you that one either one of these, which would benefit me most in terms of comfort? Which would be best do do a lot of graphic design? What do they feel like? Heavy, rubberized, etc.

I own both and can say I love the G7. I never used the forward button so the single thumb button was not an issue for me. If you game or do a lot of computer drawing, the G7 has on-the-fly sensitivity adjustments that let you crank it way up or down with a button push, which is handy. Plus I love the batteries on the G7.

The G7 is also lighter and has a special "gamer's" teflon coating on the feet that makes it FLY over most smooth surfaces.

However I have no real complaints about the MX1000 either. I love Logitech gear, and since the MX700 each generation of mice has just gotten better and better. You'll be happy with either, but I'd go for the G7.

The G7 is good for pure gamers and the mx1000 is amazing for gamers and people who like more buttons. I use the buttons on the side of the mx1000 to control winamp and it works in games too it is really nice.

Well, I'm going to get it from someone I designed for. He's getting it from best buy, so I just told him to get me the G7 if they have the carbon fiber version. If not, I'll just take the MX1000.

I've got a G7 now, but (sadly) haven't spend any time with any of the MX series other than the MX510 a few years back. Nonetheless, I love my G7...got it for $11 AR...and I can't imagine a better gamer's mouse out there.

hah i got in on that amazon deal with the mail in rebates on th e g7 and g5 too... only porblem is that i also feel the need for a forward button so the g7 is restricted to playing bf2 and my g5 sits in a box while my mx510 takes a beating. thinking abouit breaking out the g5 soon cause it looks sweet
