I've been reading xbox-scene.com, and I know you can soft-mod a xbox 360. I also see a lot of postings of people asking how you can do this, and everyone is like "screw you noob, this topic is locked". I still cant find any intructions. If anyone can give me a guide to doing this, major karma for you. I also need to know where I can get backup 360 games to burn. Thanks.

I don't think you can do that on a 360 yet.

you get backup games from buying the game. Piracy is bad you know.

I know piracy is bad. I never modded my original xbox. I have bought over 20 games for the original. I just want to soft-mod my xbox 360 now.
I read stuff about people saying, "I only got it to work with this specific burner" or something. And there was some other talk. I was just thinking that its soft-mod, and not with a mod-chip. People are also selling tutorials on ebay to soft-mod it, but I dont want to pay $60 for a stupid guide. If anyone has a tutorial or something, please post. Thanks,

There are all kinds of guides on xbox-scene.com, including how to do the 360 firmware hack. If you ask for people to re-do a guide for you when it's already there in front of you, I can understand why people get pissed.

Sorry oops I was only looking on the forums. I didnt know it was called a firmware hack. Is this a safe way to do it? Can I still replace it back to my original firmware, and can I play xbox live with this?

If you're not very competent with computer hardware in general, you'll probably brick your drive. It's safe or not, depending on how good you are. Read all the guides in the link I posted for the answers to your questions.

For now, yeah, xbl works.

On the xbox 1, not 360.
