I am looking to install a nice system in a old 92 chevy s10 pickup. I have made up a parts list of what I think I should get but I am not sure if they work together well or not. I am having someone else install them and I work for a retailer that gives me all the stuff at 10% above cost so from what I see it is cheaper then online.

Sub
Infinity REF1050W 10" 4ohm voice coil
http//www.cardomain.com/item/INFREF1050W?ref=frog
48.92$

Amp
Kicker 06-ZX350.4 350 watt 4 channel amp 90 wattsx4 @ 2 ohms
http//www.hookedontronics.com/show_product_details.jsp?cid=18852&c=0607Froogle&b=Kicker_06+ZX350.4
200$

Speakers
Polk MMC 460 4x6 73hz-25khz 100 watt max
http//www.cardomain.com/item/POLMMC460?ref=frog
54.40$

Head unit
JVC KD-HDR1 (HD radio)
http//www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?Source=googlebase&ProductID=16811
145$

I have heard don't worry about the back speakers as the front two are the ones you hear the most and should provide sufficent sound but if back speakers are better then I would go ahead and get them. I heard that speakers only operate as good as the amp and if you don't run them through one they only get about 60% of what you could so if I got back speakers wouldn't I have to get a 5 channel amp?

The installation fees are going to be 130$ and the head units ipod connector is going to cost a additional 30$. Around 650$ for the whole system and install.

Does anyone have any advice on the system? I don't know that much about car audio and im looking for help before making a purchase.

You work for the retailer and know nothing about installation ? Also, they charge you 10% extra? Sweeeet deal...

Cost + 10% is very different from Retail + 10%....

EDIT I suppose I'll offer some advice on the system

First, it doesn't seem that you know much about car audio, so my best advice is to let someone who does build the system for you. With a 10" Sub and 2 4x6 Component speakers, you have no reason to buy a 4 channel amp...I think you'd be much better off a mono block for the sub and a 2 channel amp (assuming you're not trying to power the front door panel speakers with the amp) for the rear speakers. Alternatively, you could do a crossover, in which case the 4 channel would suit you just fine. Gotta run, I'll offer more advice if you need it...later.

Oh! I overlooked the cost part, I assumed he meant retail cost (What it would cost to buy) that's a great deal then.

Yeah they are going to do a crossover on it. And bridge the last two channels to the sub. I would not have any back speakers everyone I have talked to said the two front ones would do just fine since it is a truck and noone is going to sit in the back.
