I don't see a problem. It got to Parsipanny at 1033. It may be delayed because it diden't come the day it was shceduled to. I don't see where in the tracking info you can figure it got lost. Give it another day or two?

I've had one or two UPS deliveries at night, but give it a day or two, since it has yet to update a departure scan.

This will be the 3rd incident I have had with UPS in the last 6 months. All involves not delivering my package on time. When I called them, they just gave me a lame excuse.(once they told me the shipper wrote my address wrong(can't find a mistake when the item was delivered the next day). another time they told me my package will still arrive that day, even though it was 10PM!!lol) I'm so freaking frustrated with them its not even funny. I just can't imagine what kind of excuse they'll give when I call this time. What worries me is the package hasn't even arrived at their NY location in Maspeth. All other times the item are in their truck.

Why did it go to New Jersey...wouldn't it be quicker to go from Florida to New York directly? lol

Can you imagine if UPS just delivered direct from sender to receiver? You'd have half-full planes and trucks going every which way. They have a pretty intricate web of hubs to get packages delivered to achieve the best balance of cost and transit time. I'm not sure what's been going on in the OP's past, but overall UPS has an amazing track record of on-time delivery. If you think of all the things that have to happen just right, it's not surprising this stuff happens now and then. Sounds like there's something odd going on in your region with UPS though, GCY.

I've always been confused about the way they ship air. I'm in STL, and when I get something shipped from california, it goes through des moines, IA. roll

Chances are that's where their closest big hub is. They want to make sure they have it figured out so they can fly full airplanes to each airport that they go to.

The closest big hub is right here in st. louis. I work there. I'm just confused cause we get air shipments from many other places.

lishrugli I guess I just think that they've sunk a lot of time and money to plan what will be the most cost-effective and efficient way to serve the nation as a whole.

I know that's why they do it and i'm sure for some reason it's the best way, but it costs me an extra day of shipping. cry

They still need to cut down cost of shipping though. I think it costs FedEx an average of just under a dollar to ship a package, and UPS is just over a dollar.

fedex is the best and most reliable way to ship stuff.

when I ordered from NewEgg they gave me FedEx Ground and it came the very next day, in the MORNING. UPS usually delivers in the night, and it takes like 5 days with ground shipping.
