I got a cheapo USB 2.0 5 Port PCI card for my computer on eBay a couploe months ago and I rarely used it except for my iPod. It kind of worked considering I didn't use an drivers for it but now it says I need drivers installed and the disk that came with is one of those ITSY BITSY disks and for some reason my CD-ROM has never been able to read them. So anywho, what I am asking, can anyone find me some drivers for it, or a program that will find me drivers. I just got a WD My Book and am eager to use it.

+ Karma for the answer

The PCI card had lots of dust in between it and the slot. Fixed, thanks!

Have you tried to take it our and put it back in, Windows should automatically pick up a USB card. (it was in Service Pack 1)

I found two sites for Windows users

http//www.driverfiles.net/USB/Microsoft/USB-2.0-Drivers/download/page,sh,22483,138,14,.htmlurl==http://=http:///url

http//www.usb-drivers.com/drivers/86/86986.htm

Good luck

You shouldn't need drivers for USB2.0 if you have SP1 or later, unless they used some really obscure chipset -- which is doubtful. I'm thinking something just got hosed somewhere.

The drivers they supply are for older OS's.

Ditto to what dmorris said, but if you're still having problems, googling the card make/model, or at least what is printed on the chipset will assist you in finding the right driver. (Or egyptianruin's links)

Oooh, in that case you limightli need drivers, particularly for 2.0 mode. It's been so long since I worked on a Win2K box I honestly can't remember, but I doubt it supports 2.0.

Non-ATX mobo? If AT, what the heck you tryin' to do with a PC that old? shock

I'm postive it supports 2.0 considering it worked a while ago. As for the PC being old, you wouldn't beleive this thing, it defies all. I play HL2 and CS and only have 128 megs of ram and it runs like a dream.
