I want to upgrade >.> Rendering takes too long on my sincle core A64 3000+ . Only thing is, Will removing my CPU Heatsink be hard? >.> I built my comp, But CPU seems kinda toughy to upgrade XD. yeah replacing the heatsink isn't bad, just remember to clean off and re apply thermal paste.
hell the new processor should come with a heatsink if you get it boxed which is usually like $5 more at newegg

I don't plan to upgrade since my current setup does fine when I rarely play games.
Even if I did upgrade, I'd have to buy a new motherboard to go along with it.

Do the price drops apply to the new AM2 sockets?
I just recently $150 on a Athlon 64 3800+ AM2 along with mobo and some other things.

i went to check today and my processor went from $354 to $199.. ordered it already haha.
i suggest you get your amd stuff now, never know when the prices go back up. P

but its just to make sure, one of my friends lost a chance to get a better video card than the one he has now for cheaper than he actually paid for the video card he has now. and he was going to get it the next day. P
