My friend saw an auction on eBay for a site that is already designed, ready to go, etc. It includes hosting and advertiser connections. It is like the Gratis sites, in which you complete offers and refer friends. How hard is it to run these types of sites? My friend wants me to go into the idea with him but I am hesitant as I know nothing of how to incorporate myself, fill out tax reports, etc. Im 21 and in college. Im sure its not that hard, just a lot of work, but are they all profitable? Gratis made $20M so far with only 12 employees. It seems easy enough. Is this just an idea of my friend that will set us up for failure?
It just seems too easy.
Thank you for all your thought and opinions.

Well, Gratis was one of the innovators of that type of site. From what I've heard, if you don't know much about the business or where to begin, it's best to not persue creating a freebie site. That's not to discourage you, it's just what i've heard. If you offer great service, good deals, and have a good layout, your chances for profit are much higher. Do something to separate yourself from the rest.
