Ipod Alternatives?

My ipod has recently broke for the 2nd time (my 3rd one) and I am looking for an alternative for my two week trip I am leaving for on tuesday. I was looking at the Creative Labs Zen or Tobisha Gigabeat. Any other suggestions.

seriously, though, I am not sure. I believe that last months issue of computer shopper or consumer reports both reviewed these types of devices...i may be wrong

I've heard the Zen is tight but I need more than 30GB. I'll get the Zune this Christmas...

I'm over iPods. Too many issues. The other players have more features and are more reliable just not "iPods"...

Get the Gigabeat. My firiend has one and likes it very much. The windows layout is pretty tight as well.

Try one of the chinese knock-offs that can play videos.

I used my PSP for awhile. The thing with ipods is they have shitty sound, no base whatsoever. The PSP has good sound quality and the little remote thing, yet its a litty bulky.

microsoft is coming out with an ipod rival by the end of this year (probably by thanksgiving)
if you can hold out just wait to see how that one is, it's gotta be good cause they know ipod is dominating the market right now and they've probably been working on it since ipod first came out or before

I think I am going to go with the Zen vision M. the xvid and divx playback is nice and all the gigabeats are sold out in the stores (sears)

what I'm reading.....its gonna be a portable gaming system like the PSP with MP3's and such expect its gonna be the ultimate ipod and psp killer. xpod?? maybe lol
