Anyone know if there is a game demo of Guild Wars I could try out? All I find are the GW Factions Event things but those dont look like free demos as I tried installing one and it asks for a key.

If there isnt a demo out there, then perhaps I could get some input in about this game?

Thanks

Lol, well that stinks.

But is it like a diablo like thing but with better graphics? Also, are there any giant boss battles and what not?

Bosses, somewhat. Saying its like Diablo II is sorta true, but its massive multiplayer, and you can team up with 4 others to do a quest, or series of quests.

Hmm, when u say massively multiplayer is it like you can travel to differnt towns and the map is huge? Because I was under the impression that there is a town that acts like a lobby and then you just enter this quest thing.

Well yeah every town is a lobby, with all the players, smiths, and computer partners if you do not want to team up with other online players, and the map is pretty big.

My current favorite MMORPG.

There are 14 day trial keys available, or at least there used to be. I think I got at least one to give out with my Factions upgrade. I'll look when I get home.

Quite a bit different than Diablo (as are all MMORPG's). Not nearly as in-depth as a full D&D ruleset, and not quite as in-depth as say DAoC or WoW -- it's just the perfect mix for me, and it's not pay-to-play which is the real winner. It's an instanced world where once you leave the town/outpost, your party has the world all to itself without interference from other player characters. So no griefing, whoring resources and bosses, etc. But if you prefer PvP, it also has arenas where you can fight other PC's.

You can party with henchmen NPC's or real players. Group size is not limited to 4 for the entire game, it depends on the level of the outpost. You start at 4 but reach a party size of 8.

I basically finished the original GW and pre-ordered the Factions Collectors Edition, but unfortunately have not had much gaming time to get into it. I think I got to level 6 or so.

I have 2 guild wars account one of them has lvl 20 ranger/monk and misc. characters. I don't play anymore because of World of Warcraft. ) You can't jump around in guild wars.

I love GW, I have a couple lvl 20 chars. I don't play WoW because of the monthly fee, and with me... I always get tired of MMORPGs eventually. Like with GW, I play it...then take a month off, get tired of it, then start it up again, and I don't end up paying for months that I don't touch the game. I play when I want to, instead of feeling like "I have to" because I'm paying.
