I'm going to Orlando also in August. I'd suggest renting a whole house. It would be cheaper specially if you were planning on staying around disney. The house I rented is 4 rooms, inground pool and hot tub, big screen TV, fooseball, it's an amazing house, I think I'm playing 700 for the whole week.

Please. How can you want to go anywhere else other than DisneyWorld?

well there's no place like disney, it's just staying there is freakin expensive for a small room. These full houses are almost the same price with our own pool, hot tub, all that good stuff. Most are very close to Disney and there is transportation provided.

I prefer going to Islands of Adventure and Universal. There aren't as many screaming kids there as there are at Disney parks.

five nights at the disney resort rounds up to around 1700 bucks,i really don't want to pay more than the plane tickets to go)
i'll probably end up staying in a hotel close to disney

I was assuming that those two were basically part of Disney. They're not but I was including it. Those places are awsome.

It's an unbelievable house and you and your family or friends will have a great time. There are others in the area as well that are just as good. I've stayed at that house twice already and will be going there one more time in the summer this year and next year at spring break!

as for what to do in orlando in august...
if u have a car and kids who would enjoy it the kennedy space center is worth the trip.
i would recommend if you rent a car (which can be very affordable) to stay in the kissimi area right next to celebration. cheap but nice hotels.

Universal is a lot better then Disney, for grown up's that is. Kids def. would prefer Disney but during the summer esp. Aug. its man packed. 2 hrs+ for a single ride. Universal is not as crowded as Disney, and IOA has some of the sweetest rides in FL. If ur looking to ride some more sweet roller coasters, I highly recommend heading over to Tampa's Busch Garden. Has the least ppl of those 3 places and the best and most roller coasters in FL.
Seaworld is also pretty sweet but not worth the money IMO.

Yep, if you usually go to Disney and not Universal I would definitely go to both of these, especially if youre a movie fan.

although this is true, its not that bad if you have a lot of your friends to go. i've been renting houses since junior prom, but this one i just started a little while back. getting houses is the way to go. its a lot cheaper than getting a hotel or motel if you think about it. The first time i went to that house, i went with 15 of my fraternity brothers. the house is flililiin huge so we were all able to sleep comfortably...some people brought other people over, some stayed other places, but i'm sure we could've squeezed in 5 or 6 more people easily. Anyway, so thats 16 people. comes out to like 1400 bucks for the entire trip per person. most spring break packages are around the same and we decided that we rather be right on the water and have a huge mansion with our own pool and hot tub than get squeezed into some crummy hotel. so basically for each person, it was 200 a night. basically we've just been doing that ever since.

Not to thread steal or anything but I am also going to Orlando, Disney World with my family. But there are 12 people going, and we are renting a 7 bedroom house, with a game room and a pool for around $2000. And I was also wondering, if anyone is from Orlando, what good clubs are to go to?
