Anyone have one? I hear they are legal in all 50 states, is that true?

What happens if you get pulled over, would a cop ask you why you have a fuzzbuster?

How much are they?

Any other info I should know?

You shouldn't drive over the speed limit? lol

Seriously though, do those things really work?

I have a Valentine 1, one of the best ones you can get and $400. A cop cannot tell directly if you have one, but they can pick up signs (like hitting the brakes when they turn the radar on). I believe they are legal everywhere except Virgina and Washington DC, but I could be wrong about that. BUT, if I cop pulls you over and you have one, throw your chances of a warning out the window

As far as do they work, it depends what kind of driving you are doing. If you are doing in-city type stuff, it will get thrown off by random types of other radar. I do a drive from SF to LA every couple months and it works wonders. You wouldn't believe how many times I slowed down, a guy whizzed by me, and he got the ticket. It has paid for itself many times over

I doubt they're legal and there was a thread created on this already, in which you posted in. shock wink

Page 3 - Legality

The use of a radar detector in a passenger vehicle is legal in all states with the exception of Virginia, Washington DC. and on military bases.

Radar detectors are illegal in all commercial vehicles weighing over 10,000 pounds

In Canada, the only three provinces that allow their use are Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan.

Many overseas countries also ban their use, such as Portugal, Finland and Spain.

In areas that radar detectors are illegal, law enforcement use a device called the Spectre that is able to detect the use of radar detector in your car or truck. For more information on the Spectre, click here.

The wonders of google.

Definitely work. Both the Valentine and the Passport 8500 X50 are $400 and are great.

If you're just gonna buy a $60 one save your money.

And the cops can detect them...they have these things called radar detector detectors that catch the radio emissions your detector makes. But both those two have radar detector dectector dectectors (im not kidding ) .

Oh yea and three things. A lot of times the freq emitted by automatic sliding doors will set the Ka band off. If you get pulled over the cop will give you a ticket for sure and add 10 mph onto it. Cars with radars get broken into a ton.

Yah, I read some reports that Cobra sucks.
I've been told that the Beltronics and/or Escort may be a good deal.
Valentine gets a lot of hype, is good, super expensive and may not be worth the money.
