My dad's birthday is tommorow and I'm building him a system.. It would be really great if I could make a music studio out of it. He has an old reel-to-reel that has RCA audio (red/white) for an output.. Is there anyway I can convert the RCA audio into what I call "speaker jacks" using some sort of adapter or special cable?
By speaker jacks, I mean the types of connectors that go in the back of sound cards (I have a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS).. I 'think' they are called mini-jacks.
and what software should I use for this?
Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

The jacks you're talking about are called minijacks or 1/8" jacks.

will work if you have some RCA cables already
or try

either of those are going to be easily findable at rat shack or any electronics type store.
I figured they would be available there.. I'll check it out today.
What about software? Can anyone recommend some software for making a digital music studio with this ol' reel2reel?
