I have a crap load of Bob Marley on my iPod, and when I click "Shuffle songs" just about every 5th song is Bob. I don't want to delete all his songs, but I would like to make it so that that don't show up when I click shuffle songs, is this possible?

hehehhehe

If you mark them as being audiobooks in itunes, they will not play in shuffle mode.

Putting them in a playlist doesn't do anything becuase they are still in the library.

But that's a pain when you have thousands of songs to rate....

Actually it's pretty easy as you can select all the Bob Marleys by searching for Bob Marley and then saying select all and rate.

I dont know if it works on your ipod but with itunes you can click the little checkbox next to the song and an unchecked box wont play in shuffle mode, only when you play album only.

that would do the exact opposite thing with these bob marley songs, they said they want to not have them on the shuffle list, rating them would make them the highest rated, so they would be played and nothing else... easiest way would be to change them to audio books...

I deleted them for now.

That option is ONLY available for each individual song. Unlike others, like genre, artist, album etc where you can either do them individually OR highlight several tracks at a time, and change them all.

This is the sole drawback of iTunes at the moment (to me anyhow). I can't wait until they fix this oversight. I can't shuffle without getting the comedy albums I have on my iPod, and I can't safety dance to those... ;)

Shuffle, as in the function, not the version of iPod.

oh ok, in that case, I've had the same problem. All of my good songs (ones I listen to more) shift always to the back while the ones i dont listen to are always in the front.
