Google checkout is here[=http//slickdeals.net/?sduid=93697&t=276814&u2=http//www.google.com/buy/m.html]here

They're giving $10 off on several stores like starbucks. If you have a citi card you also get a 1000pt bonus. They don't seem to allow user-to-user transfers so we'll still have to use Paypal.

Give credit where credit is due...

You mean SD? I usually do state what I rip from SD but I figured it's not a big deal. Is it really such a big deal? People have to assume I ripped it from somewhere...

I even left the slickdeals link.

I hope they integrate peer to peer tranfers like Paypal, then they'd really make a dent in Paypal's userbase.

Do you think Google might come out with a seperate "Google Wallet" for Paypal like functions?

Here's a good article on the payment system

If Google implements P2P, I'll only use Paypal for my eBay purchases.

More specifically, credit is due to gravix from SD. I didn't mean to come off as rude...but it most places it [i90f32a6f5b]is[/i90f32a6f5b] a big deal oops

When GBuy opens, I'm on board.

This is GBuy.

As far as I know GBuy was just the name that everyone assumed it was going to be called.

Google and Snoop Dogg need to team up to make a commercial using Snoop's "Nuthin But A G Thang."

Cause that would be funny.

Yeah I know what you mean, in places where deals are posted it's important but here I posted it for info since we hate Paypal so much. I'm not after credit from you bitches wink.

I would've bought a starbucks gift card or something for the $10 discount but they don't seem to sell that online.

I was talking to someone at ebay and they said that google is supposedly working on a google auctions site. I hope this is true, because I am sick of Ebays greedy fee prices.

Screw that. I'm going to use it for ALL my eBay from now on. The API is freaking easy.

I've already signed up for my sellers account.

You can generate "Buy it now" buttons really easily. Sure I'll have to generate one for every ebay auction. But I'm already playing with cURL to strip all the important information from an auction.

The information is only a base 64 encoded string. The API looks simple to integrate.

Since Paypal owns eBay (or the other way around, not sure), I doubt eBay will support Google Checkout.

Define "support". You can accept payments any damned way you please on eBay - you just wont be eligible for certain protections or have smooth integration if its not PayPal.

WTF.

"Hello. Thank you for winning ebay auction #22349879. To complete this transaction with Google Check out, please follow this link http//ebay.exstatic.org/checkout/test.php"

That's a bare bones nothing site. I'd obviously add some formatting.

I'm playing with the API so that I can just do http//checkout.exstatic.org/?32453987 (where that's the auction number) automatically graps all the crap with cURL and dumps it.

For selling stuff on the car forums I'm on or for Trades, personal money transfers, etc. All I have to do is send a person http//checkout.exstatic.org/?price=100.99

Sure the price is 'right there' and you could change it to what ever you wanted. But you don't send me what you owe me, I won't send out the part.

(Note. The Checkout.exstatic.org links aren't live yet... maybe by 5 am)

I was talking to someone at Ford and they said DCX had an awesome new car coming to market. roll He probably knows just what everyone else has been speculating with /.

Anyway. Late night hacking and coding has ended up with

-------

That last number should work with any eBay auction. That's not my auction, but it's just one I randomly searched for. It should (fingers crossed) works with any ebay auction (like mine for examle)

If anyone wants to send me 'money' you can go ahead. It's a sandbox account (http//sandbox.google.com) so it's all fake anyway.

Bubbye PayPal. I've had enough of your Shit. This is going to make my auctions so much easier. The Checkout interface is so clean. For buyers AND sellers. On my buyers page it's like "This is it?"

I've never played with any Google API before, mainly because I didn't care to integrate maps or anything else. So far everything is pretty well laid out and the examples are pretty good. Remember. This came out yesterday. I've been playing with it for 6 hours at MOST. There are many many advanced features. No shipping to certain zip codes, states. Special tax rates, etc.

(Note. Hardest part about that was the grep/cURL shit because eBay changes their pages and I'm not guaranteeing that it'll work with
everything.)

Edit Damn it. I was remotely editing over FTP with HTML-Kit. My Dialup connection dropped and it choked. Turns out it had sent like 1 byte. All that hardwork for nothing. Good thing I kept the Auction parsing functions in a separate file.

It's 615 and I'm going to bed.

I swear. It's really easy to incorporate.

If you can code it once... you can code it twice.

That's all that I used. The google comments and sample code rocks.
