take files off a DVD....

I reinstalled windows yesterday, but before I did that, I backed up my important files on 2 DVD-RW's..... How can I get the files off of the DVD-RW and onto my computer? I tried just drag and dropping and copy and pasting from windows explorer, but that doesn't work. Is there some program or other way that I can do this? Thanx!

Try this Open the disc in explorer, then do Crtl+A then Crtl+C then go to where you want to copy to, and do Crtl+V.

it still doesn't work. I get "cannot copy" errors, etc..

Hrmmmm. The error could be on the disc. I usually get that type of error if there's a scratch.

these discs are fresh. i burned them yesterday and then immediatly put them in CD sleeves...

Not sure then. Did you finalize them?

Did you test the discs before you reformated?

Do you another DVD-RW drive? Try putting it in there instead.. This same issue happened to me before and I put the disc in the second drive and it worked fine.

Sounds like your burn was bad, did you verify the discs?
