lol. These lasers are very nice I have looked into them a lot. I actually have a self modified laser that is powerful enough to send a lightsaber type beam into the sky. I can point out constallations and it looks very much like a extended lightsaber on foggy nights. I got mine for only 60$ though I don't know the exact MW but it should be around 40-50mw. Lasers are awsome.

Given all the sky out there, what are the chances a laser will enter the cockpit of a plane?

And unless the plane is [i409ebf93b8]upside down[/i409ebf93b8], how the hell will the laser enter the cockpit, which is generally [i409ebf93b8]on top[/i409ebf93b8] of the plane?

Unless I'm misunderstanding.

Yeah, , the FBI and Dept. of Homeland Security starting raising the issue around the holidays a year or two ago. But most laser experts downplayed or altogether dismissed their concerns.

Extra bonus, it cauterizes the wound while you slit, so you can enjoy (or not enjoy, if you're emo??) slitting your wrists for years to come.

I'm surprised nobody has pointed out that pilots can see the ground out in front and around the plane (if they're below cloud cover). If they have a sight-line to the ground, then conversely someone at that point on the ground has a sight-line to the pilot's eyes. ;)

So somebody with a high-powered laser out in front or to the side could certainly shine it in the pilot's eyes, but the likelyhood for blindness is still virtually nonexistant with a handheld laser.

benner410

28-06-2006 10:48:13

OR you could duct tape yourself to the top of the plane, and while you are at 30,000 ft, just unstrap yourself and crawl and peer over the window, shine the laser in his eyes, and yell IM THE JUGGERNAUT BliTCH!

These are not Laser Pointers laser pointers are less then 5mW. These are Class IIIb Hand Held Lasers. That is how they get away with selling them. Ill give you guys a guide if you are interested in purchasing a cheap one of these that is lower powered but only 60$.

VitalliSpirit is the best source of Leadlight 105 laser pointers the cheapest and easiest to modify. LINK http//search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZvitallispiritQQhtZ-1
Get the GLP-105 NOT THE NEWER MODELS. Black or Silver color it doesnt matter.

When you get the laser pointer take a razor and lift up the button that you press to turn it on. There may or may not already be a little hole that shows a screw. Depress the button and SLOWLY turn the screw until it gets so powerful it goes way less powerful all of the sudden. Turn it back to its most powerful. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE BUTTON DEPRESSED WHEN DOING THIS.

This would probably only work if it was a smaller plane. Most big airplanes, ie 747-777 can only see things that are at the same height as the airplane. While cruising. But as someone said, turning and lowering altitude would let the bigger planes see the ground.
