Adjust Input Volume

Is there anyway to increase the input volume of a soundcard through a 3rd party program or something?

I don't want to use my microphone line because it makes static, I would rather use the input line, but it's really quiet. Any help would be great.

   yea but it's maxed out already and extremely quiet.
