A lot of what you said there.

Radiohead isnt even going into the studio untill late august, so I wouldn't hold your breath. Have you heard anything about a new arcade fire release?

I'm looking forward to the new bob dylan in august, ray lamongte, and I can't believe you forgot the decemberists. Also FYI Regina Spektor and Sonic Youth just released new albums.

I am also checking out some cat power at the moment.

hope of the states? razorlight? rufus? nine black alps?!

i love you.

or at least your musical preferences.

/freak out session

i dont think i am waiting on anything at the moment.... recently acquired the angels and airwaves album, which is amazingly good even if toms voice takes some getting used to... it sounds so much like the cure. its wonderful.

got 'yes, virginia' by the dresden dolls... incredible, as expected...

i know i am waiting on the solo albums by nicky wire and james dean bradfield of the manic street preachers, but im not sure when thats going to happen. you would think i wouold stay up on these things, seeing as i am more than slightly obsessed with the manics.

summer concerts, anyone?
i need to cut back due to the fact that i am kind of going broke, but so far i have picked up tickets to angels and airwaves (with taking back sunday)on july 4th, dresden dolls (and, unfortunately, panic at the disco) on july 6th, and sonic youth with the flaming lips on august 28th. i plan on hitting up the cincinnati warped tour to see NOFX as well, but im not yet sure if i have to buy tickets to that or if less than jake will be oh so kind to us once again.
might also see mindless self indulgence in july, but thats up in the air right now.

Yeah I've got Regina Spektors newest album but for some reason it has a few songs on it from Soviet Kitsch. Not a Sonic Youth fan at all. shrug

I read on www.NME.com about Arcade Fire planning a new album this year but it was probably just them saying they're going into the studio. Anyway, akalic only asked what we're waiting for I just shoved everything in that I'm waiting on. D

I didn't know The Decemberists were coming out with a new album (or have they already?) but that's something I'll be getting.

lol

I've been waiting for Hope of the States to release a new album since their first came out, but when they're guitarist commited suicide it put the album back a while. Not long now though. D

Razorlight are amazing, a fe of their songs sound like The Talking Heads but they're also really good, catchy rock songs too. Nine Black Alps are good melodic heavy rock also. I only have the one Rufus Wainwright album but I really wanna get some of Martha's stuff since I heard her duet with Snow Patrol. I just can't find any anywhere.

I can't stand The Dresden Dolls. I think Regina Spektor is about as much of that kinda music as I can handle.

I didn't know Nicky and James were releasing solo albums but I'll look out for those too. Didn't James already release one a few years back?

My friend in Scotland said his younger brother saw The Flaming Lips in Edinburgh at the end of their recent European tour and it was the greatest gig he's ever seen. I'm not a huge fan but they do seem to put on an amazing live show.

i cant say i have ever listened to regina... i have seen her album, but i cannot have any sort of opinion until i hear it. all i know is that the dresden dolls put on one of the most amazing, impressive shows... brian is quite possibly the best drummer i have ever seen.

there has been no solo stuff from any manic so far, except for what is being worked on now. james has an album due in july, i believe, and it will be called 'the great western' so something like that. i have heard a few tracks, and it is very good. the wires album will be called 'i killed the zeitgeist', after one of the songs... i can say right now that it will NOT be anywhere near a commercial succes, but i personally think what i have heard it great. his voice, though... eeep. heh. its pretty funny, but i guess i am just biased so i love it regardless.

i saw razorlight open up for jimmy eat world. i only knew of them as "that band thats going to be opening for the manics soon" (this was in fall of 2004). i was so bitter, because i know i will never see the manics. but razorlight put on a great show. to make things better, though, jim adkins from jimmy eat world noted my manics shirt and said he really liked the band. it just about made me cry.
